What would anyone suggest as a first weapon? I've never done this but do have weapons experience (bb guns, military).

m4/m16 is good to start with, because many people use them, and so you can share magazines with your team, and its a fairly simple weapon

Just my advice, but I geuss the thing you'll hear most is don't get a sniper. Its long and boring, and you only get a few shots a game, although its quite fun sneaking around. :p Just get an AEG (automatic electric gun.) I've got an Ak 47, and I think its pretty sweet. Tokyo Muari guns are generally the most well rounded guns, good accuracy, good rate of fire, although the guns only shoot 280fps. If you end up buying a TM upgrade the spring, just remeber that if you upgrade the spring you will have more wear and tear on the gearbox and you may need to upgrade that too. Just listen to Spartan 117x, he knows what he's talking about. (he's talked me out of doing some retarded things, and saved me a couple bucks too. :D )

It seems I've taught you pretty well, but there are a few things that are wrong with that statement lol. Many novices hate the sniper role because they are impatient. It's not boring, but it all depends on what you're doing, i.e. recon, taking out a target, (theres one more that i'm forgetting) but new players tend to find it boring. Not all the time though. A lot of the time its also because they don't spend the money on a quality sniper rifle, and they buy a UTG sniper and think it will outrange AEGs.

And TMs are great guns, they will last you a long time, but you CAN NOT upgrade them with a higher spring without upgrading the rest of the gun. They use plastic instead of metal for most of their internals as well and they will not hold up to an m120. Make sure you upgrade the rest of the gun.

Well. its kinda like [very basic]
Low 0-100
Med 100-220
High220-9999

Like if you even just pick out a random one I can help you more lol.

Are you planning on playing in the backyard with friends or at a paintball/airsoft field against other AEGs?

High end guns that are good:
Classic Army
Marui
ICS

Med end
JG/Echo1
UTG

Low
Depends on price and what you want.

I'd say JG are better than TM now. They're slowly metal bodying all the appropriate guns, and their newest M4 has a mosfet preinstalled!
Even as a hater of G36s... the JG G36C is the best starter gun around at the moment. Robust, good size mags, can be modified, good starting FPS.

Although I do slightly agree with that, JG is still using not as high quality parts--unless they changed that up.

yeah, i agree. in my experiance those guns dont last very long, and if you want to upgrade them, you might as well upgrade the whole gun and the gears and pistons suck

I dunno what JG guns you guys have seen, but as far as I and most of the other guys in my team are concerned, TM are only good for pistons and gas guns.
JG designed their guns to take the higher FPS's they do, as such, the parts are stronger than TMs by design... And JG are upping their game in further with metal bodied, MOSFET'd M4s! Nobody else has ever done that before!

Theres always going to be the debate of CA/TM/ICS vs. JG/Echo1. Everyone will always bring back personal experience/what they hear vs. the same.

I just prefer the "Gucci" of guns. [I'm surprised I spelled that one right]

mp5 or m4 there both bad a$$ if you want to own for around 100 dollars then there the ideal guns for you, my friends learned to get out of my guns way, except my brother cause he'll pwned me from longe range with a m22 and you'll never find him cause of his ghilly

i need an opinion from spart270 and 117 or any highly knowledgeable airsofter.

need help with a setup.
it would be greatly appreciated.

the only guns i am considering buying are either:

rifle( will be turned to sniper most likely.
SA-58
FN FAL
new SKS
psg-1
possibly scar
it has to be above 150 and just at or below 300(will go higher if extremely good)
can be electric or spring. but preferably electric.

handgun.
Desert Eagle. .50cal version not 44mag version.
glock 17 or 18
hk usp
something very similar to the Springfield xd-45
try no more than 150.

not too sure on what brands are good when it comes to the rifles.

Glock 17 from KWA = perfection. You can even go with the 18 but try not to use the full auto that mcuh. Just guts the ammo out. And something similar to the XD--I can not even say lol, part usp, part 1911, part 226, part glock. It's just too many fusions! lol. If you want reccomendations on another pistol ask. If you don't want the glock.

PSG-1 is undoable for that budget. King arms makes the only FAL, VFC and CA make good SCARs, SA58 we discussed of the CA doing that, although its quite expensive, but the only one who makes it. No one makes sks if I recall.

Hopefully that helps? The FAL is in your price range, and so is the CA Scar.
