Hey guys waz up. Well i decided to start making a weapon for my up coming suit. My weapon of choice was the always fun, Battle Rifle from Halo 3.Ive never made props and items from movies or games before, so this is all new to me but i am confident that i can complete this task accurately and goodly lol.
So basically i just started with a 1 by 2 inch bit of timber, witch was about 90cm or roughly 36inchs long for those under imperial measurement. Then i filled in a few holes it had with some putty and gave it a good sand. I then cut the small groove from the back of the gun into it, at the appropriate spot.
I made identical side panels by placing 2 pieces of 1cm plywood together and marking out the shape of the pieces with a pencil and square rule. I used a scale drawing of the gun which i found on these forums, you can search for them yourself or i think its "Wizard Of Flight" who has the blue prints. I printed it out onto an A4 piece of paper and worked out my measurements from that. I then cut it out with a jigsaw
I screwed those pieces to the main part of the gun to hold it all together, and to make sure it looked ok.
Now I got started on the hand grip or the lower front part of the gun.
I measured up and cut out again identical side pieces and another small block section for the middle of this part, and again screwed it all to the base of the weapon.
This is all i have for today, but tomorrow i will be working on the top, rear and further details of the BR. so stay tuned
