very nice work there on the pep/resining. I'm hopeing my build turns out half as good.

You know what I have learned from this is that if you go slow, be meticulous and very rarely compromise (if it doesn't look right, re-scale it and do it again) then you'll be very happy with the results.

*Update*

So since the county has been laying us off and I have been working almost 40 hours of overtime every pay period I have not had much time to work on my armor but here is a very small update on where I'm at that I like to call, "Oh Bondo, how I hate you." ( I've decided, if you can't already tell, to try clay and see if I like that better with the higher detailed pieces)

Now bare in mind that this is very rough and the fact is I still don't have a dremel tool and need to go to my father's place and borrow his. So the next time you see this it will look much better then this and will be eady for some rebound 25!

looks great man your pep skills look amazing i also have had to slow down due to working so much but keep up your hard work bro'

WEEZY

DANG! nice work but based on how fast your going you might beat ,me in my race to finish my armor!

Lol, well I look forward to seeing yours done too. I started giving myself deadlines to keep myself on track so my first is to have everything pepped and fiberglassed/resined by thanksgiving

Ok, almost done with all the pepp/resin and what not so I would like to pose a question to those who have molded before: How many ounces of the rebound 25 or whatever other silicone molding substannce does one use for a larger object like my helmet? I figured if I know that it for one let me know of course how much for the helmet but also a base line for the other parts.

I made the mold for my odst helmet with two trial kits of rebound 25 and picked up a gallon of plasti-paste II. The two trial kits was just enough for the helmet mold, but I had leftover plasti-paste that I used for other parts of my build like the shoulders and hip plate.

*Update*

OK, so maybe I won't have the greatest beer known to man in this photo... I'm finishing up my honey-do list at the moment and haven't gotten down to bevMo yet. Anyway, this is where I'm at now

Hip plate by Hugh

I apologize for the poor lighting in this, was trying to take the photo before my wife tells me to get back to cleaning the pool. Besides, as with most things in this art form, I am not satisfied with this and am scraping it except for the collar plate which I will canabalize for what I will be doing instead which is Hugh's torso. It just makes more sense to have a full chest piece rather than the partial shown (by the way, this is in no way meant to be offensive to Nightshade who has made many awesome pieces, I just the other one works more towards my tastes.)

I saw your back piece and I think yours looks just as good as mine (by the way, sand by hand sucks bad, don't let people give you stink about using a power sander. I find the power sander helps keep things even.)

*update*

So, slowly but surely I'm getting there. This should be the last update before I am completely done pepping then all that is left is fiberglass, bondo/clay and then casting and I'm pretty happy with it to boot.

I saw that at total wine when I was building my own six pack one night. Thought it sounded good but I didn't pick it up, will have to try it next time.

Oh and great work on the armor!
