Thanks man, I wish your models were up before I started because I've used mostly yours anyway (I finished the torso only to scrap it besides the neck seal and will finish it with your torso model. I think a full wrap around torso makes more sense.)

I saw your back piece and I think yours looks just as good as mine (by the way, sand by hand sucks bad, don't let people give you stink about using a power sander. I find the power sander helps keep things even.)

Thanks, and yeah, power sander helps A LOT (so does a dremel for that matter lol). Keep up the progress, I'm trying to keep up mine.

Wow your moving pretty darn fast. I agree with your sander remark lol. Are you going to put the LED's on the inside when your done?
Keep up the good work.

I wish it was going faster but work gets in the way and if I don't like the way something turns out I'll trash it and start over so that all slows me down sometimes. I definitely want to play with LEDs! I would like to do something interesting with them but not sure what yet. My end hope is to stay true to the idea behind the ODST in the sense of the character soldiers in the game but try something kind of original too

hey man great looking work the pep work is well done. also i saw the body cover u were using and thought u might like this boot model that hugh made good luck keep up the good work

Thanks fir the comments everyone, I appreciate it. I have all of hugh's files, I'm just trying to get this done and when my pepping is complete I'm going to strongly consider it

cfh935,

Great looking work man! Slick and clean pepping. Definitely will be watching as you bring this one home! Great beer and great build....what more do you need?

Thanks, I'm anticipating the wife having some casting material under the ol' Pinus Pinaceae Pinoideae and with the help of becks on using modeling clay this project should back underway. Plus, there may or maynot be a craft robo under that partishus fur but we'll find that out tomorrow. I expect there to be a "what did you get for Christmas" thread started tomorrow and if so I'll have to show this awesome Spartan II project hoodie my wife gave me early, it's really cool

Well, it's been sometime since I updated this thread but I just wanted to say I'm still working diligently on this project but right now I'm learning (or at least attempting to learn) how to use clay and my brand new silhouette sd so once it out I'll be posting for sure.

man this looks awesome keep up the good work, its very inspiring, making me want to finish mine, keep up the great work

*update*

So all smoothed out and ready for casting......

Ok so heres my first rookie mistake that I hope others can learn from.... always, always, ALWAYS determine the appropriate amount of volume nesscary!! I made my space too big and I did not have enough Oomoo to cover it completely, it still worked but not the way it should

Since i didn't make an even surface with my mold because I didn't have enough material my piece came out uneven but I plan to fix this using the master and clay to even the bottom of the mold

Now for the second lesson learned, no matter how bad you "F" up, almost everything can be fixed. So all in all I think it was a good first attempt and I learned from my mistakes and we'll see what I do next

Sure you can. Just use release agent so you can get your silicon off the cardboard. It's pretty much a mother mould for those who don't want to use a fibreglass shell.

want to know something funny about that.... I was in such a hurry I forgot to spray the releasing agent

YOU CAN MOLD IN A CARDBOARD BOX?????!?!?!? WHAAAAT

Yup. just if you use seperate pieces to adjust the volume of your box be sure to hot glue the seems or use some tye of sealer

Armor looks great, I think it's awesome how out of all the threads posted this one really made it far, and is still going farther. Awesome stuff man, I'm watching till the end.
