Oh DANG! The armor looks amazing man. So are you going to use vent metal of just use screen in the air vent on the helmet.

I have no idea at the moment. I've got less than two weeks to figure it out. I'd like vent metal, but have no idea where to buy it.

This is looking really good! How did you get that "side detail" in there?

I just got some EVA foam my self and this really makes my want to learn the skill!

All I used was a mesh material from Wal-Mart. Just glued it around th back stretching it tight.

yeah you can always come back to it. I buy mess and things from McMaster and Amazon.

awe yeah! That looks amazing! Looks like it belongs there.

I really like it. Breathable and when the helmet is on, not really see through. Of course, flash photography will probably show that it's see through, that's another reason to wear a mask underneath.
Have you been casting the mold?

Yep. I have a few pulled but now am unhappy with the original model. Some of the pulls had some dents, all were a little uneven because somehow I didn't realize the mold was. I guess it was because I looked so long at it, it all started looking even lol.
Anyways, I took the best cast and fixed it up and evened out the places that looked uneven and will make another mold with it eventually.
And I finished the helmet.

You can see on the back picture here, I still somehow overlooked the top ridge being slightly angled. Before I mold this helmet, I'll even this up too.
Thanks everyone (again!!!!!) and we're continuing work on the Fotus and the rest of the ODST. Just less than two weeks before the con!

Just a bit of advice with paint have a small model brush always on hand. It really helps to make those smooth line and what not so you paint does not look very choppy.

But over all I like it man. Look go for what you got coming up. I just have a feeling you are going to keep going back after and doing "touch ups"

Yeah, I should probably fine tune it with a brush to fix some of the rough edges of the paint, I should have spent more time painting, but I was like, "I wanna paaaaiiiinnnnnttttt nooooooooooooowwwww!"

I took a look at the back of the helmet after I posted the picture of the ridge on the back being uneven and it isn't actually uneven, per say. The left side of the ridge is sanded at a slightly more inward angle than the right, and when that light was on it, you could see it, but the actual piece is straight. Just that one sanded part. I fix it before I remold it.

It still looks sick though but My wife saw it and even said he will go back. She is more harsh the I am and all I heard was to many soft edges for an ODST.

But for the first one. Still nice to see a Halo 4 version.

The halo 4 ODST helmet is very streamlined compared to any other one. There are so many other ones out there and I hadn't seen a Halo 4 version, so I made it. Took the file directly from the game.

even in game to me it is too smooth. I thought I would hate it...but it grew I am a trooper till the end man.

you know that you mention it it really does.......that sucks..... I just looked at my model and. it really does look like a newer halo 2 ODST. That is crazy.
