That's looking good! Be sure to post more progress pics of the helmet and EOD pieces as you go


It's been a pretty busy week... I did a little more sanding on the helmet and I'll be finishing the details once the sun is out again:


Started working on some more detail pieces for the chest:


Almost finished all the pep pieces for my armor, still need to do the biceps, boots and the second handplate

The shins and right forearm are covered in resin at the moment and should be ready for fiberglass in a couple of days.

And finally did a bit of planning for my CQB chest display piece

That knife is just a stand in for my one (they're both identical but the one pictured isn't mine) it's not exactly game accurate but it's an awesome little knife I'll be making another sheath for it once I get the knife and some supplies

This is lookin really great, belakor... I'm not a big fan of recon, but the more I look through your thread, the cooler this helmet looks to me. I may be inspired enough to make this one my next project when I get to work on armor again.

Keep it up, I can't wait to see it finished! (I'm sure the same goes for you...)

Nice Helmet, what kind of knife is that?

That knife is a Seal Pup Elite by SOG but I've just heard that SOG are out of stock of the one I was after so it looks like it'll be a while before I get it I do have another one on the way though (for a different costume)

I think that's what I like most about building stuff from the Halo series, there are so many options for everyone and you'll generally find one design that you like rather than being stuck with the same thing as everyone else

Not much progress to report at the moment, had a major computer meltdown the other night so I've been slowly restoring from backups and such :rolleyes Also got an iPod Touch a couple of days ago so I've been busy playing with that
... However, I did cut another big hole in the helmet today (still need to cut two more), I'll post some pics once I've tidied it up a bit...

Thanks The visor will be some sort of clear formable plastic... haven't really given it much thought though I've got an old paintball visor that I could use if need be

That looks amazing! God, I just can't wait until the spring. It just won't break 55 degrees here and I called the resin people and they said it needed to be at least that warm for the resin to cure. It is absolutely killing me to just sit around assembling paper! I want to do the semi dangerous/cool stuff with respirators and rubber gloves!!! I'm gonna do it in the driveway so when people go by and ask me, "What are you doing?" I can be like, "I'm working with fiberglass and body filler to create a Mjolnir mark 6 suit of "high tech" armor!" And they will think I am so cool! ...maybe lol

The Helmet looks Terrific, hope one of mine turns out at this Quality
