I like the boot, if I can wear it, I want to break some foot when I'm playing Football in PE class.(really, can it break thing by one step?)

I've been looking at how to extract the game models, but at the moment, I'm hitting a brick wall. The propietary files used are encrypted, so you have to extract them with some nice homebrew stuff for modified unreal engines. However, BS2 is not supported yet. I can access the original Bioshock files, and am currently looking at which directory I need to extract all the goodies from.

The other route is to use 3d ripper dx, targeting the Bioshock 2 securom launcher, however you need to force global monitoring, and that only works on some systems due to driver issues. The Delta suit sure is fun though.

It should be not that bad to model from sight actually, but I prefer less thinking.

Try looking into Game Assassain or 3D VIA Printscreen ( also called 3D Printscreen ) they are alternatives to 3D Ripper DX I tried myself to rip the Delta Suit using 3D Ripper DX and it just won't work but I have been told the other two programs will probably do it.

Ooh, thanks. I think I know what I'll be dong tonight instead of working on my coursework...

3dvia looks like it'll work, but I can't find anything for "Game(s) Assassin" apart from references to Assassin's Creed.

You try and see if you can get 3D VIA Printscreen to work for you and while you do that I'll try to use Game Assassain http://www.gameassassin.com/ to do it and hopefully we'll hit two bird with one stone that way if one of us is'nt able the other person might be able to. I was able to get Karas and Casshern from the Wii Tatsunoko vs Capcom game using a wii emulator and Printscreen so you should have no problem trying it. I can't design in 3 dimensions so I have to resort to ripping the models myself.

Right, it looks like unless I get a brand new computer/ operating system to test 3D Printscreen on, we've hit a dead end. When the software is running in the system tray, you can do your normal work and you'll be fine. When it tries to inject itself into 3d applications, you'll get two outcomes - either nothing happens, or it crashes. Sometimes it'll crash when you press the screen capture button, other times it'll crash on the rendering of the game. Bioshock 1&2 both fall into the category of "nothing happens". Source engine games crash when the hotkey is pressed, as well as the majority of other games such as DoWII, unreal engine games crash on render (and sometimes don't even render the mouse point for some reason), apart from UT3 itself which just feigns ignorance when you hammer the hotkey.

However, there is still light at the end of the tunnel - I've managed to get the software working for space rts games.....wooooh.....anyone want my 3dxml files for Empire at War and SoaSE? I thought not.

I don't know if it's steam blocking the injection, or not, so I'll have another fiddle with some other games I've got lying around.

Hope you've gotten more luck than me.

Hmm not sure about steam causing part of the problem it could be but I think you have to use a certain type of program to open the xml file with, might have to ask on the 3D VIA forums to find out whats wrong. I tried doing it with GA but it came out twisted beyond recognition.

EDIT: You might try opening the game first then opening task manager and telling it to run 3D VIA as a new task after you have the game open.

Hey, Id also be willing to unfold the delta big daddy helmet if you guys can get the model from the game... I kind of want to go as delta for anime boston in april but I dont see that happenening unless those files are extracted anytime soon...

on a side note, I know how to extract models and textures from source engine games like half-life and portal but sadly, Ive had no experience with extracting models from bioshock

Rejoice brothers, rejoice!

Thanks to the amazing people over with Gildor and his umodel software,

I've been able to rip out the Subject Delta models, his hands, as well as other things such as Big Sister and the Daddy Doll.

The files aren't as high-quality, polygon-wise as I'd hoped, so I'll continue looking.

The Subject Delta files are here, and the hands are here.

If you want something specifically from Bioshock 2, then I can go look through the files and upload for you.

Also, if you want a file type, other than .obj, just ask.

I'm not going to be doing much unfolding, as I'm rather pressed for, time but this should do for now.

Let's get to work.

Yay you got him Impactor, I think I recognise the name Gildor from Facepunch but it could be a diffrent person. I'll get to work then LOL.

Umodel rocks, Gildor has done a great job, as long as you remember your command line syntax ;)

thats how I exported the ME and ME2 models to edit.

in fact you can export most Unreal base models with it, with the exception of a few

I could maybe model some of it but I need to know exactly which dude you need modeled. I have never played bioshock (I might be getting the first one tuesday) so I don't know who any of the characters are. Tell me the name of the character and get me as many references as you can and I will see what I can do.

Actually, I've just gone back through the game, and I think what I've extracted is actually the body of the Alpha Series Daddies, and the arms of the Delta. The game never actually needs a good model of yourself, as you never actually see yourself. Thee is a very low res version, that is used for shadows, and I think that's it. There're nice quality normal Big Daddy files though, so I might look at those. Plus, I need someone who's willing to go as a Big Sister.

EDIT: Actually, I think the models are identical, but as you never see yourself in game, you never notice.
