man, my mind is soooo blown on this entire project, it's simply amazing, and I hope any build i do comes close to this level of awesome.

Mind blown, thank you! :)
I aim to please!

It's been a long time since anything Halo related here has really impressed me, but damn man you have some serious bondo detailing skills.

Thanks Liq!
It took me a years worth of thinking over what I wanted to build, in the end Im glad that I took my time to figure it out!

EEK!! Sorry, man, I didn't mean to cause more work for you. Then again, if anyone can pull it off and do it justice, you can! Seriously, though, I don't know why no one's ever attempted it before (or, if they have, why I've never seen it)... well, other than the potential for ruining a $30-$50 visor with one little... okay, now I can see why. Oh, and, Spitfire, sorry, mate, I may have misread your post.

(Also, if anyone is quietly taking votes, can we get some Eliting up in here?)

Yeah, yeah... Dont worry. I will be finishing everything off tomorrow ;)
Visor sides, breathers, side lights and a good once over and a good clean up!

Ill vote elite for sure :-D

I deff vote elite, like dang.

Elite all the way baby!

Thanks everyone!
You are all far too kind! :rolleyes

I have to agree with the guys and gals this is more than elite worthy already. Maybe a lick of paint on the helmet might be the boost needed for big brother to make the move :)

Well if anyone can pull off a Elite it should be you with this helmet. Of course I'd like to see some paint....hmmmm paint. oh... sorry yes ah you should be a sure in once you top it off. :D

What Thorn said.
I'm pretty certain it was the finished paint job that got my shotgun moved to Elite. Sometimes it just takes something bright and flashy to get the right attention hahaha.

UPDATE!!! WITH PAINT!!!

Alright, update time!
For those who wanted paint... There will be paint!.. well... some at least ;)

I put a coat of black paint on the Breathers, just to get them one solid color. I installed the covers for the sidelights. Last and certainly not least...

Please excuse the rough looking black, it's not quite done yet!

I would like to take a moment and thank ShadoKat, If you didn't say anything about the visor sides... I probably would have left them over top the visor thinking that it really didn't matter. But since someone other than me picked up on it... The sides are now recessed! I am quite happy that I did it, because I think they look great!

I will be painting the rest of the helmet over the weekend. I may or may not install the electrical in the helmet. If I don't, I'll be picking back up on the chest piece! We'll see I guess :)

As usual, any questions, comments... Always welcome! :)
Thanks for tagging along everyone!
Dave.

If you search for Rondo in the forum and probably on google you will see that its a mix of Bondo and fiberglass resin. The mix can vary in ratio and you can use the red bondo hardener alone or you can mix it with the resin hardener as well but not just the resin hardener. It is used to harden the inside of a part and smooth out the irregularities. It also helps when you start sanding and smoothing the outside to give you material to sand into if needed.

I feel the need to access the thesaurus to find more words to describe your helmet because I've seem to run out. Here it goes:

amazing, alarming, astonishing, awe-inspiring, beautiful, breathtaking, daunting, grand, impressive, intimidating, magnificent, majestic, mean, mind-blowing, moving, overwhelming, real gone, shocking, something else, striking, stunning, stupefying, wonderful, wondrous, zero cool
