Hey guys!

OZcomiccon Sydney is coming up next month and Im really getting pumped after seeing what Supanova was like!

And the I realized that Im going to have to fix up the ODST and thats what the next few updates are about!
Ive done the chest and shoulders, need to rebuild the helmet and add lights and re-glue the straping

So nice man
great to see you have incorporated a very Australian feel to the armour! I give it 11 out of 10

that was my main focus to make a design that was in the halo universe but has a very Aussie feel to it.
Thanks!

I started building another helmet today and Its turning out much better than the last one. The shapes, angles and details are much better and defined on this version.
Its still in W.I.P stage but it should be finished by the end of next week, that includes painting.

Went a little nuts with the heat gun and burned it is some areas and some seams are not all that pretty but I can fix all of that later.

And with that I leave you with this...

TOTAL BADASS

I give up, I try so hard to be cool..

The paint job on that chest piece looks awesome! I have two questions: How do you get into it? (Does it separate) Then how did you transfer the logos? (I figure stencils)

I had wanted to put the flaming skull on there, but was worried it would look strange. You proved me otherwise, great job! (My concept below)

Thanks man! the shoulder pieces(silver thingys<) are one part and act like a hing but the segments under the armpit are velcro. I put It on a bit like you would put on a life jacket.

The logos I just get of the internet, drag them into a document and print them.
Then I cut and glue( Im not very high tech I use a glue stick you would use in class) them on to the armour in the places wear I want them to be

Ok I finished the helmet, and I am so blown away by how it looks! I blew my old one right of the park!........ but its too small
BUT i did make templates for it so all i have to do is scale them up a bit and rebuild it.
I went of a shopping spree for tools and equipment and I picked up some contact cement and it works wonders for doing complicated curves like on the helmet. I got some more straps, an air brush and in my mind the coolest part was I got some electronics! nothing complicated just some L.E.Ds, some wire and a battery pack but Im only doing a simple current. I also got a soldering iron as well.
Heres the finished helmet

also,I forgot to mention Im still free-handing the helmet but I used pepakura patterns for the new chest piece.

Thanks guys!

i thought their was something off about helmate(old) I couldn't put my finger on it though

Ok I have downloaded and started building a helmet from a file because I am running out of time way to fast for my liking, BUT I have made some free-hand armor progress as well.

Oh and yeah that is a Batman v Superman helmet in that last pic

So Im going to need to pick up some more plasti-dip soon. Ill have some pics of the helmet soon

Your build turned out great; but all your improvements are really stepping you build to the next level. Love the detail in there. Great work bud!

I finished the new helmet! Fits perfectly, room for electronics, good amount of detail, and I feel awesome wearing it!
The paint-job is very beat up and scratched but i will and some dirt as well and do the same to the rest of the suit.

needs a visor hey?

So OZcomic con came and went and it was AMAZING much better than I expected
So right of the bat, The helmet has a visor, that was very simple as I just purchased a metallic visor film online and stuck it in place and I couldn't be happier with the results. Another thing you will notice is the helmet now has lights! this thing is now my pride and joy. My dad and I spend a whole afternoon soldering and wiring this whole circuit (It was a whole lot simpler than I thought) and I couldn't have done it without him.
I painted the rest of the armour in that army green and it turned out alright!
So now Im just going to post a lot of photos, I mean alot!

I had such a great time, meeting people and getting photos taken, I even saw a couple mates from school there, in a nutshell, i had a blast.

It was to bad that there weren't many 405th members around however I did see ScottJackson117 there and the other ODST ( I keep forgetting his username, dam it)
I had heaps of fun and I cant wait to do it all again soon!
