well, i have been fighting with rundowns helmet..... all helmets seem to hate me :'( parts don't want to fit together, some parts that have the same number, neaither of them have tabs..... AND! the front "fin" things are not doing thin enough, they keep "expaning" so the the part that leads down to the side it like at a 45 degree angle, and not 90.... so it is really really really annoying.... ill post pics later.... but right now, i am really really frustraited with it.... i could use some help...

So, here are the pics.... i need help please! i can't get the front fin things to stay flater....

Them not being flat, is causing problems with the side peices

they SHOULD flatten out when you put the whole thing together. The way i put it together was the top part like you did, THEN the pack and side piece, THEN the jaw and visor, then i pieced the 3 parts together. seemed to work out fine. Once youre done you should put some supports in so it doesnt warp when you rondo/glass the thing. i forgot to and it warped and i couldnt fit my head inside, so i had to cut it in half and gona try to make a 2 piece helmet :-\

ok guyz, so got some bad news...

Working on the back part today (of the helmet) and that part that goes down the middle of the two halfs, well, obvisuly, the two halfs had to be super exact, in out words, no slip ups or anything even off by a little bit, cuz, it would not reach down to even the first pair of little tabs! becuase my back part was just a little bit off.... so, in other words.... that helmet is out the window, and i will be using my MOZ helmet, here are pics of it, i tried to clean it up a little bit, what you think?

And Rundown, if you ever look at this... You might want to change those 2 "Bars/ridges" on the back of the helmet, from 3 pieces, to 1... cuz i think that is what really really threw the whole back off.... Just a thought that would probably make it easier to put together, and cut down on time spent glueing, unglueing, then re glueing, and so on:cool

Cj, Don't get Discouraged. The ridges and bars are what took 70% of the time I spent on the helmet. Those things are evil, but they do look good. I did mine similiar to how Matth did his. I did the top then worked down the ridges and then out to the visor. No joke, after the ridges, it took me an hour. That's the whole front part. And it doesn't even look that good in the back. Just remember, Baby Steps. :D

meh, i will use this one for now. i am trying to get it done for relase of Reach. i might go back to it...

OK guyz, so update here
I finished the left shin and boot, and i am happy to say, i think they are the right scale!

What you guyz think?
This scale BTW, is the basic scale, not changed.... i am thinking about going back and redoing the thighs to this scale.... thoughts?

Soooo you scaled the thighs but not the shins? Sounds like you might be a lil bottom heavy just from logic. Again, I can't tell 100% cause I'm on my phone, but what I did was group the foot pieces together in pepakura, scale those to your foot, print and pep them, then group the shin pieces together and scale them to your shin, print and pep them to your shin and go from there. Again I can't tell 100% cause I'm on my phone, that's just my $0.02. Looks good so far tho. Hurry up spartan!! XD

haha, no, i did not even try a regular size thigh, so i don't know... all i know right now is that the thighs are a little big right now xD

hey guyz, so Big updateish thing!
So, today i have officaly finished the pepping stage!!! i iz so happy!

Ta'da!!!!!
I don't know why the right boot looks so fat.... but i shall figure that out.... maybe suggestions?

SO, what you guyz think?
I am testing out rondo on my forearm to see how it works.... stay tuned and post!

Yyeeeaaahhh!!! Finally!!! Maybe think about putting support stuts on the pieces before you resin them so they don't warp too much. And I actually attached the chest and back together before resining them so they would warp less and still fit together. And I hope your resning the pieces before doing the rondo ;) keep it up man!! I get home in 2 days and I'm gona put a 12 hour day in on my suit and hopefully start padding XD.

It's funny, i have never had any troble with warping or anything... idk why...
And yes, i am putting a layer of resign on before i rondo the iside, don't worry Ner'Vod!
And jeez... you travel a lot don't ya?

Lol yeah its my job. And I'm stoked every time I go home cause I are excited to work on my suit! And I get done early enough tomorrow to catch a flight to seattle and then home! XD.

nice!
Ok, time for a lame update...
I fiberglassed the out side of the forearm with one layer, then i for the first time in my life, attempted rondo... and it worked out perfectly! i was so happy!!! So now, it has some weight, and is almost rock solid!!!yeaz!!!!
Now i jsut need more resign...

lookin' good. Keep it up. What are you gonna do about under-armor? Something I am wondering as well for my own armor.

haha, yes, rondo does =win...
and Sean, for the under armor, im gonna use... well, under armor xD i figure since it is halo 1 and the under suit had practically no detail, it will work just fine. But i think most people (that being people who don't do halo 1 stuff) use pressure suits, and hockey suits....

and yes, i will post pics....

I'm thinking of using a black flightsuit. Pretty basic and like CJ said there's not much detail in MC's undersuit in Halo CE.

Looking good. I'm so close to being done with pep. The only problem is I have to wait for the hardening till I can Afford it. Maybe I'll put together my wife's Pep armor when I'm waiting.
