Custom Spartan Armor builds

Ok I figured a few things out after yesterday's fit test. One was that the right shoulder needed to be spaced off the bicep a little. Two is that I lose quite a bit of arm mobility from the way the torso fits. So today I spaced the shoulder and I'd have to modify the torso greatly to get good mobility.
Other than that working progress on the left forearm, it's about half done.

Well how much mobility are you looking for? like what is it you want to be able to do? If you are able to slap an elite then it should be fine :p lol

Everything is looking good though :)

More or less mobility to do action poses XD. I can do them now its just te torso feels a little too wide and the front seems to protrude froward too much. After spending an hour or so playing Reach then going back and looking at screenshots, I do want to remake my torso. I'll either find another foam template, or make one from scratch(which is easy to do having made one already). However I'm going to just finish and run with te one I have now. Major issue is I'm becoming a perfectionist about this build XD, it may be te death of me lol.

Alright slamming more work out, I roughed out the RT forearm today, then went back to tinkering with the helmet to finish up some things I wanted to on it.
Forearms and when I say ROUGHED OUT I mean ROUGH lol. This is what it looks like prior to layering and detailing.

And here's what I did to the helmet, closed up the neck hole with some craft foam, which I was able to give some nice detail and depth to. Mainly did this to make it so you can't see in the helmet from the back side, and to make it look good.

I'll finish the forearm tomorrow or pick away at it tonight, then it's on to the Cod. Might also get some plasti dip and start priming some pieces too.

I Love it :p

Nice to see that many couples here are doing this awesome hobby too ;)

Like you work, really thumbs up !

Regards

Alex

Nothing wrong with becoming a perfectionist lol. its just time consuming :p
Armor is looking good :)

Sorry it's been at bit since last post, I had a national Airsoft event at the end of last month followed by a breakup. So I will no longer be updating this as a couples build but just as my build. Ok now that my house is all back to normal I've been working on a few things. I got the helmet fans instualed and wired up,they work great, visor will be the next day or so. I'll toss up pics of that when its done. Primed both bicep/shoulders pieces, and the torso is primed. I've started color testing and painting some parts. As of now I'm currently building the cod piece and spine. I'll try to get pics up as soon as possible I'm just trying to get back in the game. NYCC is 2 months away I'm starting to feel the crunch. But I will not scarfice quality, I'll just get it done!

Ok quick update, all upper body parts are ready for paint. Helmet is ready to be padded, and final detailed(just one more thing I plan on doing to it). I'm still working on the cod, and working non a bathroom remodel in my house, so it's taking a bit.
Anyways eye candy time!

I used automotive panel bonding adhesive to glue the visor in and it works great. This stuff glues anything to everything! It was pretty much designed to glue plastics and fiberglass car parts together so it bonds chemically to plastics. Needless to say that visor is NOT coming out lol.

Great work guys! Cant wait to see your suits completed :D, and I like the foam/screen'd fan vent, planning on doing the same with my helmet.

Thanks guys! Ok current progress on thighs, one is roughed out and trimmed up to fit nicely. On to the next one then final detail after they are both done.

Sorry to hear about the break up. Glad to see you're going to finish the project on your own. Keep up the awesome work. I can't wait to see you're armor when it is completed.

Ok so the build is still coming along, just thought I'd fill you all in. The Cod is done and plasti dipped, the rt thigh is done and plasti dipped. The Lt thigh is detailed and will be ready for plasti dip today. All that left is build the shins and boots. I only have about 40 days till NYCC, so as long as I stay on top of this I'll be all set. I will try to post some pics later, and maybe next week ill have some good detailed pics that are not taken from a cell phone. XD
