Hey Everybody,

Sorry for my absence, I'm getting married in October so I've been very busy working on wedding related things. I came up with the idea to do a video game inspired invitation insert that when played through tells the story of my fiancee and I's relationship. Once that's out of the way I'll tackle some more of Iron Man. I haven't released my arm yet because I'm still not 100% happy with it. If there's interest though I could upload what I have so far, it's complete I'm just not totally satisfied with the overall shape of the forearms. Also don't worry I'm not discouraged by the other files, the more files out there the more variety we'll see in costumes so I'm definitely happy to see all the stuff coming out.

Now that's just being selfish ... the Ironman model should come before anything else.

Just kidding ... congrats on the up coming wedding

Really happy for you

I'd be happy to see what files you have sitting around.

Also if its possible could I see the obj files rather than pro.

Cheers

First wanted say thank you Dancin_Fool for the great files. Currently building the Ironman except used dungbettles helmet.

Wanted to ask if anyone knows if the scale on the Armor is correct to fit together? I have the neck built and the chest 3/4 done and realized I forgot to look at the scaleing (not that I have a clue how to change it). I just printed off the back and thought before I go ahead and cut everything out I should check if it is scaled right for the chest as well as the shoulders? Any help would be great guys and again thanks for all these wonderful files.:)

I finished pepping the back of the torso last night and was just about to print out the neck and front when I noticed the scaling. The back is scaled to 1.404193, where as the neck and chest is scaled to 1.525000. Do I leave them at that, or do I change the scale to the same as the back, the back is a good fit. Help!.

A little late on the response as your chest and back are looking awesome and near complete but yeah all pieces should be scaled to the same value, but that value will vary person to person.

Hmmm it might depend on the unfold if someone has changed the scale value, as I said earlier you're gonna want all the scale values to be the same or else things won't fit together properly.

I've updated the first post with a link to the pdo of the arm as it is right now. I felt bad about the lack of updates but I've been super busy with wedding stuff so I haven't had anytime to work on the model but it will pick up again once I have some free time. I know it was mentioned early about a link to the obj file, I'd rather not post a link to that directly but PM me if you'd like to get a copy of the actual obj for the arm. I'll probably be uploading another copy of it once I'm more happy with it. There's a few details missing and I plan to model in the ability for the rocket launcher to come out of the forearm but just no time right now.

Ok I know for a fact I posted this earlier today. o_O

I have the arm file unfolded and flipped for the other side. It's a little funky in areas as this was my first unfold but I just used a little masking tape in those areas (corners of the bicep) I have one side built and the other is 1/4 done and all I can say is wow thank you once again DF your the man. ;) :cool

If anyone wants to try em out i'll have to email to you cause I have no idea on how to host them. LMK

OK, firtly congrats to Dancin_Fool on his awesome models. I'm currently (and slowly) working on a IM armour using your models and im extremely happy with the way everything is coming up.

Secondly, in regards to Dancin_Fools comment on the missile function on the arm.pdo, has anyone given any thought to how the movements would be achieved (electronically)?

Hey Finhead,

I posted earlier too, but it seems to be gone. If you want I can put your file up on my 4shared account with the rest of the files. I also got a request from SupermanExtreme for seperated arm files so I went ahead and set that up, I believe he's unfolding them, they're the same model for the most part just with some supports added for easier builds. I've also got a couple pics of some work I did tonight.

Regarding how the missile pod would work, I imagined the launcher springing up with a servo driving the two "flaps" left and right exposing the missles.

pretty much Randy.

I'm working on this

I have an old pepped and resined gauntlet from the callmemilo files as a test piece.

I have the gauntlet cover where the missiles are, in 3 pieces, each servo pushes a piece out and another servo will bring up the missle all in one motion.

and returns to the start position in one motion.

It's pretty sweet and smooth.

I'll be showing this stuff in my own build thread when the time comes,

great job on the files. They are pretty much the only thing making me want to even do this build.

EDIT: Files passed on to Brothers Darkness for Unfolding

he does a great job so look out for them.

I'm gonna be contributing a lil here, per the request of an ironman-er

Here's the Bicep Scaled to 1.52

Here's the Elbow Same scale.

Here's the Forearm Same scale.

Here's the Upper Forearm Same scale.

Hope ya'll like my unfolds.

Gimme some feedback. :D

Oh, btw, Dancin_Fool, those are some awesome and easy to work with models. Didn't take me nearly as long as I thought it would. You're awesome, and keep up the great work dude.

Great job on the unfolds Brother Darkness, looks very clean and nicely layed out. I'm loving that there's so many Iron Man builds starting to pop up.
