Easy now guys - it's just a car! The fuel it will be running on is the least of our worries at this stage, and if we're running it on the road, I would be inclined to run standard diesel only rather than mixing fuels and risking contamination and engine problems.

Now, onto more important things - I have a couple of snaps of one of our prop projects - the M7/caseless submachine gun. It's currently mid-way through prototyping but we're aiming for a rapid finish so we can have some of these babies (as well as the Warthog) to display at the London MCM Expo at the end of the month.

We're going with the little nobbles on the grips - sorry to all those who aren't a fan of those, but they are more accurate. Matt Worsdell, the artist making these, will also be scratching together an ODST silenced version upon completion. At least, that's the plan, anyway.

Seriously, that has to be the SICKEST (in a AWESOME way) SMG I have EVER seen! Epic work once again!

The SMG looks amazing Peter! Though I wouldn't expect anything less from Matt ;) He does some crazy good work :)

Matt certainly does. :)

No guns will be going inside our guns - we will be using CG to replicate muzzle flashes and so on. Matt wanted to put Beretta M9s in them though, if that's of any use. :D

A few updates:

1) SMG is almost completed - magazine assembly is being finished and the only thing left will be the barrel. Pics when they come in.

2) The Warthog is having some issues... our transport for the MCM Expo has pulled out and so I'm scrambling around trying to sort that - only we've now got to find new accomodation for it too! :( So trying to find a new home in between contacting trailer companies! If anyone knows of a possible place to store it in Southern England, or a Halo fan who owns a 4x4 and trailer, I would be appreciative.

Hey man, been following your progress on this for a while, the 'hog is looking magnificent! I poked around a few of your other blogs as well as this one, and I just had a couple questions about the hog body itself.

I noticed you have a steel skeleton that forms the frame of the truck. The main body is mostly plywood, correct? Did you use the plywood as a base and fiberglass over the form, removing the wood, or is the plywood still underneath there? Is the body or any of the panels removable individually?

Brilliant work, keep it up!

Epic SMG... I can't wait to see this.

So, are you gonna have ODST's in it then? Since you're mentioning ODST silenced SMG's and the only people who get silenced SMG's are the ODSTs...

Haha, you should definitely do a pod drop scene during a battle. Just have pods land on the field and ODSTs pop out and own... though I'd have to steal one of the pods to use as a shrine later, lol.

I need to keep watching this topic, I've fallen behind

There will be ODSTs involved, and while the concept art and the current script features a drop, you do not see the battle that ensues.

The entire body is plywood impregnated with fibreglass resin.

will there be a donation box? What can I (we of the 405th) do to help other than words of encouragement?

While we've been told not to solicit donations, prints of the concept artwork (excluding The Drop) will be available and we'll be keeping a sneaky ammo tin behind the table. As for those who can't attend the Expo, we do have a donation box on our website, and prints are available for those who are particularly generous! :3

Photos coming from the workspace are showing the Hog in tip-top shape - can't break the online photo embargo (after all, I want it to be a surprise) but it's going to look AMAZING at the Expo. :)

This stuff is looking great! That SMG is coming along nicely.

I probably missed this somewhere, but is the Warthog going to be the standard chaingun version?
