Sorry for not getting back sooner... Thanx for the comment sirnaut and no lunar lord, I would not mind if you showed me off in the next 405th insider vid! :)
Feel free to do so, just one question... What is an insider vid and where can I find it/them? On another note, would I have time to finish up the suit to my standards? It may take a week or so seeing as how it is not yet completed. I can probably get you new pics by this weekend of the suit finished with my custom battle damaging and painting. Itll look much cooler!!! =D

Not sure if this has been disccussed, but could this be done for a helmet?

yes :)

Done! (for the most part)... May do some more work in the future, but I feel its complete. Im really happy with the way it turned out!!!! Now onto the rest of the suit... Will have slow progress, but surely progress. I will start a new thread just specifically for the suit in a bit, for now, here are some pics, enjoy! Oh and I meant done the vest, not the rest of the suit. =D

And to Altair651. Your Chest piece look like the Colonial Marine Armor from AVP the game! you use some acetone for the burn effect?

Ben,

thanks for the tute, it has helped alot. My only question would be, Are you going to do a further tute showing how you used pep to make your stencils? Thanks again and great work!

Yes, the next thing I make I will video how I did the stencil, right now I am having some medical issues with my hands shaking so it could be a couple of months :(

Awe dude, sorry to hear that... Hope you get better soon! And thanx for the comment Ronster. Like I said earlier, progress will be slow, but I should probably be able to get the shoulder pieces done by this weekend! :)

OK being me, I have to ask a bunch of questions xD Also, Freaking amazing tutorial/thread!!

This stuff looks pretty good, soft, comfortable, durable, etc. so instead of pepping the armor I'm going to work on, I would like to use this method. I'm going to try to make ODST armor out of this stuff and then just pepping the helmet but I'm still confused on a few things.

One being do you think ODST armor would be possible since it does have many straps and buckles. The second question being what will I need, like a list of materials other than the obvious foam mats and hot glue (any specific knives that seem to work the best, stuff like that).

The last question I have is I want to make sure I have the process right.
- Get the foam pads
- look at the pep models and figure out templates
- draw templates onto mats and cut
- start gluing together
- fill the seams
- detail with dremel
- paint, weather, battle damage, etc.
- trick out (fans, lights, etc.)

But then again I'm making ODST armor and strapping is one of my biggest issues and I'm not sure if I need to strap the foam armor in general (like even if it wasn't an ODST suit). A little help would be GREAT please :3

You might actually want to do your dremel detailing before you start gluing and bending... might make it a little easier :p
