I wanted something interesting to cover the laces on my boots. The pattern on the boots also compliments my abdomen section and shoulders. I think assembled it'll look fine.

Definitely, it'll give it that uniform look throughout. I can't wait to see pics of your plasti dipped pieces. I've never used it, but have seen/ heard really good things.

Since the armor is build and its getting dark out (no more painting) I decided to start this

Lol at Molly Ringwald's face in the breakfast club

Lookin good, you nailed the shape. What material is that and did you draw from reference pics?

Edit: judging by her face she loves your gun lol.

Indeed she does :) I actually scaled down then printed out L3X's sliced br file and used it as a template. I need a better way to cut it out, though.

Major picture update!

Pre-electronics. I also sewed my mask on to my shirt to ensure never showing my neck for any picture!

Switch those on if someone gets too close to your face and you'll blind them haha. The paint-up is coming along great.

I was going for bright and I'm glad it worked! Fans installed

I may attach a piece of card stock or foamie to direct the air flow directly onto the lens to prevent any fogging. I also de-detailed the visor. I think I like it more without the dots painted on.

HELP! So I plastidipped, painted, then put 2x clear coats on.... Then did the detail paint....... So I de-taped it and the tape ripped up the cyan paint....

I need some real input from everyone.... Do I somehow transform this to extreme battle damage.... Or completely re-plastidip and start over...... Man it took so long to tape this all up....... Maybe I can reverse tape it. Just cover the red and re plastidip the cyan then re paint the cyan, maybe

What type of tape did you use? I used the green frog tape on mine and acrylic paint and I it seemed to work good. I also didn't use a clear coat of any kind but that's just because I wasn't sure if it was necessary or not.

Blue painters tape. It didn't do this to my helmet or shoulder pads, just the chest.... makes no sense..

Ah, I went a page back and see your helmet now. The only thing I can think of is one of the coats your put on just wasn't completely dry. But your reverse tape-up idea would be quicker then doing the whole thing. Maybe do some test tape on the red and see what happens?

I'm going to try this. Put a couple more coats of clear on the red then tape over the red.

I'm going to agree with kitnip and say not enough dry time. happened to me too, but on my plasti dip coat.

This happened to me before. When you mask your armor be gentle and don't press really hard on the tape except for the edges. Also, like everyone else is saying, let it dry. You may have also applied too much paint, so go easy on your coats.
