Just a small update today. The boots are about halfway done printing. Hopefully I’ll be able to work on them after the hot weekend.
I also did a quick repaint of my Hayabusa helmet to match my armor colors.
Multiple different helmets allows me to switch the look up easily

I finished the boots today so I obviously had to do another whole suit up to see how they looked.
They do not stay in place but they stay on so that is good enough for me.
I also decided to try on my repainted Hayabusa helmet to see how it looked with the armor

I’ve been following your build on insta, love the work! Colors came out super clean and the weathering just tops it off. Great job!

How do you plan to do your under suit/ attach all the parts? I’ve found this to be the most difficult for most cosplayers.

I have no idea yet lol. I think I might do buckles and snaps to attach the parts to the under suit but I want to make an accurate Gen 2 under suit so I have to figure that out first

I decided to print another Halo 3 helmet to go with the armor in case I want to switch up the look.
So here is the Halo 3 EOD helmet! It might be one of my favorite helmets I have made so far.

I decided to redo the strapping on my thighs to make them fit a bit better.
I also finished most of the major pieces of the suit so I decided to suit up and take deployment pictures.
I’m not trying to get tied 3 with this first attempt I’m mostly just trying to get my number and continue to work on the suit later.
I still need to adjust a few areas and get a proper undersuit made. I have shorter legs so I noticed that the back plate doesn’t sit close enough to wear it should so I will need to figure that out as well

Not exactly progress on this build but a cool little mashup of both of sets of armor.
I wanted to see how the Recon chest plate would look with mk v(b) everything else.
I did this late at night while wearing really baggy clothes so nothing fits correctly but I kind of like the look.
I’m also starting the printer back up for the original MK VI legs to go with my Recon armor so I have a regular Halo 3 spartan as well as my MCC spartan

The new MK VI thighs for my recon armor are done printing!
They fit perfectly and I’m excited to have the proper MK VI legs as well as my odst style legs
Up next is the cod piece which will only take 2.5 days to print. After I will do the shins which will be printed in two halves to make them easier to put on

Mk VI legs are done printing! I really like how they fit and the scaling I think is spot on. All that is left is to sand and paint them.

So I might have spent all day yesterday getting things sanded and painted.
Now all the hard parts of my armor are done! The Mk VI legs are definitely better than the ODST legs.
I at some point might also make the EOD front plate to go with the helmet.
Now I just have to figure out how to do the stomach wrap for the under suit. I might try to print it in flexible PLA or try to find foam templates for the gen 1 tech suit.

My first set of armor with the ODST style legs got deployed at tier 2! I'm super happy about it and I cant wait to update the build to try for tier 3 deployment with the Mk VI legs!

Love your build. Beat me to a finished set of H3 recon armor. Working on the same set of Moe's files since 2020. Will be finished in the coming weeks. This is the first I've ever seen about armor tiers / grades. How high does it go? lol
