Wow, this is looking really great! You have some mad foam skills there :p I'm for sure subscribing to this one :D

Good job with the shoes, on a side note though is it just me or has foam become really popular on the site recently.

No, it's really trendy atm, the armor is really light and comfy to wear, no dealing with chemicals like resin, bondo, etc. and you can work inside.

All done with the left shin and knee. Hopefully I will be able to start on the right side today or tomorrow. Everything is coming out better than I expected and am really pleased with the results. I have no doubt now that foam is the way to go :)

Nice to see another Master Chief foam build. :)
Wow, that shins look badass (so do the boots)! Detailing really makes all the difference! I'm totally stealing your pics for detailing my own armor if you don't mind. :p

keep up the good work mate, im looking forward to seeing this done well! Already set a high standard with what you have done so far!

I shall try my very best not to disappoint. I hope to be done by Halloween but I am not going make any sacrifices in detail
Simply to meet a deadline. If I have to wait till Halloween 2014, so be it. :)

i may be a noob too but i know good from bad and that my man is VERY GOOD! Makes me a lil more optimistic about my first build

I don't mind at all. In fact your thread is where I got the templates in the first place! Your build just keeps getting better, I can't wait to see it finished.

Thank you! Just take it one step at a time and don't be afraid to keep at a piece till your completely happy with it.

A little update of my latest edition, probably the coolest helmet on the market! The pictures don't even begin to do it justice. It is made and sold by echo5633 over at the rpf ( http://www.therpf.com/f13/halo-4-master-cheif-helmets-189409/) and is amazing! In other news I finished the other shin and knee and started cuting out the templets for the thigh. So I'm now up to the knee on both legs. I had a lot to do lately but still hope to make some more progress soon. :)

No progress yet, but soon! I'm out of town visiting my brother but we're heading back today, and the dremel rotors tool is coming back home with me. I had to repossess it from my brother. :)
Your work looks incredible. Can't wait to see how the rest comes out.
Thanks, I can't wait either!
Beautiful foam work. What method do you use when cutting out your foam pieces?
I cut my foam with a #11 x-acto blade. As long as its new and really sharp it gets the job done with nice clean cuts, I haven't needed a hot knife yet.
seeing as I am currently working on chief as well, this gives me motivation again, and looks really really good.
thank you, I'm glad It's inspiring, that motivates me to do even better. :)

Looking great so far man. Will be subbing this one for sure :)
Thanks, it means a lot from you. I used your tutorials because I'd never worked with foam before. So far so good, I'll try not to disappoint. :)

Just finished the thigh piece before work. Next I'll be focusing on painting the helmet so it might be a while till my next update. The last thing I want to do is mess up my helmet! :)

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet! :p Looks awesome.
Now I know how to proceed with my thighs. :p The "empty" areas at the bottom were a bit of a problem for me, but you managed it very well! I really love your build.

holy hell batman! youre foam work is incredible. if you need inspiration for the undersuit check out roxyroo or liltyrant for their builds. both of them did amazing jobs on the undersuit and using just foam as armor.

cant wait to see that helmet painted up.

That was my problem too, there was a lot of space I filled in with detail from reference pics and it made a big difference.

Thanks! When I was first researching how to go about a project like this, both their build gave me the inseration I needed to take on this project. I've started to prime and paint parts of the helmet and its looking pretty cool! :)

So I finished most of the helmet. The picture doesn't do the true color justice, it looks more green in real life. I still need to use an olive drab wash on the green and a grey wash on the black, and of course enough scratches to give it a worn look :)

[mouth falls open, drools on the floor thinking 'it's so perfect']

but in all seriousness very well done.

Great joib with using the foam, Money is not a problem with me so i believe im going to start making a suit out of foam, was curious on how your making the shapes, are you using a pepakura viewer then measuring it out of that? Im kind of a noob and im gathering information for my build once i get firmilar with what your doing, you're amazing me. and also debating if i should buy that helmate for 125$ it looks brilliant..

Thanks! Foam is definitely the way to go in my opinion. The most important thing to do is research everything, this is my first build and my homework is really starting to pay off. I used pep files that where turned into templets and are the best ones ( in my opinion). I got them here http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/38092-Halo-4-Master-Chief-foam-build-*WIP*-(with-templates) most all the details (red craft foam) was free hand details. As far as foam tutorials go I'd recommend these http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/37261-Foam-technique-Tutorials. I'd strongly recommend the helmet! It is the most detailed one I found and the picture don't do it justice it's amazing! Just like how you recognize people, the face ( or helmet in this case) is the most important part to get right and for the price it's defiantly worth every penny. If you have any question just fire away, I'm always up for a good conversation. :)
