But then again, I know of some people who can use such a big gun and have a big attitude about it.

Well, considering it's a hunkin' big gun, your best bet is either straps, or mag strips on your armor. But if you do the mag strips, they have to be powerful enough to carry it in place, at the risk of you not being able to sit down comfortably. Or, you could always remove the barrel, and make a small change to the rifle to screw the barrel back in, that way you can carry it just fine.
