Hey everyone,

I also wanted to give you an update, and apologize for the time that has passed between this and the last one. People on our team are still hard at work trying to get things ready for this short film. I myself have been tied up with freelance video work (to bring some income in to support this personal endeavor).

As I said before, creating a Halo film has been a dream of mine since I was 13 years old, and will see it through (and done right) down to the very end.

We're still on track to have a teaser out soon, and I hope to be a bit more responsible with my updates as things get closer.

We decided to ditch the cryopod built for us (above) because it wasn't as appealing once completed as we had hoped. Instead, an extremely talented VFX artist is working on bringing an entire cryobay to life for us.

When I read the OP and saw its post date I just assumed this project was long dead and someone bumped up the thread with a redundant comment. But damn, more than a year later you're still working hard and putting all the elements together, so many fanfilms get announced and fall of the radar after the initial concept stage. Well done for keeping interest up, judging by the quality of the short in your OP your short's going to be great.

Thank you! We've had a handful of setbacks, but hope to have everything for this teaser ready soon- I'm still trying to keep things alive and well, as this is one project I refuse to let die like other fan films.

We're very blessed to have finally found a wonderful team of extremely gifted creatives putting together the props, VFX, and other pre-production aspects and have no doubt they'll go far (or even further than where they're at now!) once we put out this short film that addresses the spartan we have grown to know and love over the past 10 years.

Do you guys have your site/facebook fan page, set up yet? We have a decent amount of people following our facebook site, and I like to use that to try and bump up interest in fan films that have less exposure.

Also, I know this is an old question but looking a the Halo Reach marines, I've come to the conclusion that "A-TACS" (should pop up easily on google) is probably one of the closest patterns you can find. However, it is a relatively new proprietary camo (similar to Multicam), so it's either going to be very pricey, or you're going to have to do some hunting for knock offs. But looking at this image:

It definitely looks similar to A-TACS.

And while I agree that there are way too many issues that may possibly arise through official collaboration, especially anything that directly ties the films together (e.g. tying together plots, characters, etc.) especially considering distances, there's always room for mutual support in other, smaller ways that hopefully don't have the burden that an official relationship would.

I should be finishing up my enlistment this summer and returning to (hopefully) bigger and better things in the civilian sector. I'll be busy with "The Fallen" and grad school, but I'm definitely keeping tabs on this project. And if there's ever any little openings or ways to help out, I'm definitely interested.

PS I'm a big fan of those hard plastic molded trooper thigh armor pieces. Might have to try and convince our prop makers to try to do that....darn budget/time constraints!

While Id love to see even a snippet of what they are planning, the thing that kinda bugs me is the torso and upper arm armor in those pictures, If your going to be playing as Master Chief ( or any S-II ) and not a Spartan-III, the chest and arms should technically be the S-II variant.

Estimated time for the teaser trailer to be out: 2 weeks. We, of course, won't want to take away from Forward Unto Dawn or Halo 4 releases, so we may have to push back into November.
