just a quick question but i believe you said "metal glaze"? what is that exactly?

helmet looks great man, going metallic blue i assume?

Here is the stuff I use. Mine comes out blue because I have a bunch of tubes of the blue hardner (compliments of my dad).

Thanks for the comment, I'm not sure on the color though. I like black & yellow though. We'll see. I might make myself a couple and one will be done up like Carter. Thanks again!

Brilliant job on the top detail. Best commando i've seen.

Thanks You. I appreciate it.

Hello 405th! No real update on the helm, but I was experimenting with a new material (planters foam). I wanted to see if the foam would break down if I applied bondo to it. Well, it didn’t and here is what I made. It’s not finished yet.

Items used (Total est cost to build = around 3 to 4 bucks):

Planters foam for the handle

2 Paint mixing sticks for the blades (5 gal kind) = Cost 80 Cents a piece

Popsicle sticks for the piece above the handle but before the blade = Cost, I don't know, I have a crap load of'em.

& as always Bondo & Resin = Cost prob less than a dollars worth.

Let me know what you think 405th!

OMG! Thanks guys! I truly looked at a reference pic on my computer and freehand it outside with a sharpie. I checked the reference pic approx 3 times to make sure it was right. However, its not exact, but I like it. Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments.

Love you're helmet. The detailing is great, and can't wait to see this one in paint. I'm going to put this one up on my short list on what a helmet should look like.

I'm back to school and I see your update.
Just wonderful! I'm falling love with your job ^^...

Thank you Sir!

Thank you Thorn, I've been refining it even further. Added a little more detail that was left out, but I'm just about finished. I may not paint the actual model any specific colors, but I will def paint a casting.

Thanks again everyone, I appreciate that you all are checking out my build.

Well, I think I’m pretty much finished, just needs some paint. Maybe a tad bit of spot putty, which I haven’t used yet.

Well let me know what you think!

Wow... so incredibly stunning.
You really put a lot of time and effort into this, and you've demonstrated your skill. Kudos to you, sir!
Do you plan on molding this? It's in great condition to be!

Yes, I definitely will, I'm just trying to find a place to do it at. I'm currently making arrangements for a new place. So, I have to pack all my crap up in this place now. Wish I could have made my original deadline. However, things have been rather chaotic here.

Oh geez, sorry to hear...
Well, you're gonna make a lot of people happy once you've got it molded! Good luck with your new place
