I've started my recon build almost a week ago in between work and this I've been absurdly busy, I started out making helmets with foam and was extremely frustrated. I moved to this chest piece and started experimenting with different types of scratch crafting as well as using the pepakura foam files that Cr4zyDav0 unfolded. The biggest issue I had with the pepakura files were that most of the pieces were not symmetrical and made the piece difficult to build without error. I opted to improvise some of my own scratch pieces and make a more appealing piece. I've found the combination of pep and scratch build has been easier for me personally. I will eventually end up being 100% scratch hopefully.

Sweet. Nicely done. I agree that it can be frustrating but keep at it. Also, trying to transfer pep to foam isn't 100% if your cuts aren't beveled or the cuts aren't straight. It can throw things off even if it looks right on one side, the other side will be off by just so much........I know.....I know.....lots of trial and errors. But that is how we find out what works and what doesn't.

Looking good. I've done the same and left the helmet for another day. It felt i was getting some where once i moved on to the armor.
