I work very weird. I will smooth it out once it is complete and ready for full sanding. You are correct on the smoothness. I like that you really pay attention to the videos and you are not afraid to give feedback that some may not want ot hear...kuddos to you.

Well thats a relief. I really like all of you video's and I watch them carefully with a smile on my face. I love the fact that your WHOLE family shares the love for costume building and your hobby! I'm glad you can appreciated my feedback, its never mean to be discouraging its always mean to help you make the best someone can!

"Go Daddy"

Lol, yet again, you pulled off another good fiberglass piece. Your drying time is probably the funest part in armor making. But it really stinks that your dog knocked over the hayabusa piece. More work for you. No offense maybe my eyes are bad, but your front hayabusa chest looksa little lopsided.

Keep up the really good work

It is a lil off but the bondo work at the end will fix the minor offset. That is what happens when you mix custom and pep..you have matching issues. I think it will turn out fine....praying.....lol.

Hey got a quick question for ya. I just finished my first Low Res armour and I am going back to start a HD version. Did you use Fiberglass mat what? i used fiberglass mat i believe and it just stuck to the resin on my gloves and it was a total pain to get it off. It looks like you recommend cutting the strips before you start....I'll do that next time. also to i notice that on your armour you have the vents for the thigh pieces. did you make those yourself or did you have a pepakura with the vents already on the thighs? i need to know if i have to make my own or if i can use pepakura. Thanks for your time.

Dude keep it up
so your making an actual cast of the Hayabusa chest plate sounds like its gonna be really good make a video when you do
again keep it up

ratchet_fan: I used fiberglass clothe and I cut it into small pieces to make it easy to work with. I had that problem of the fiberglass sticking to my gloves as well soooooooooo.... Put resin on the area you want to stick the fiberglass then set the cloth on that spot....put resin on your brush and dab it onto the fiberglass to push it into place and set it. Avoid getting resin on your gloves as well if you can. When you dab the fiberglass start in the center and work your way out so it doesn't shift as much. I hope these lil tips help you. My thighs are cast thighs so they aren't pep. I am about to do a pep set for my daughter soon so I will let you know then. If you have to add them just build up Bondo an shape/sand them.

thanks a bunch one last thing. i got the same bondo that you have in one of you supply pics (the one with the red car on the front) i found that this is hard to work with and aggravating. is there a bondo that you use that is more like Plato right out of the can?

The thing about the bondo is you determine how hard it gets and how fast. I don't know if there is another form of bondo but what I do is let it set just a bit til it hardens a lil then I work with it and shape it. I wish I could be of better help.

i should tell you that mark V wont work. moz, me, and cadet (caboose) all have had issues with the chest. you need to cut the back part and make a smaller chest, or els you cant move your arms at all. i recommend this you tube vid

Wow, that sucks with the 'Busa getting knocked off... But, like you said, easily fixed. I did notice something else that I guess I never really saw in the other videos (what i get for multitasking, I suppose), and that's the Popsicle sticks. They seem to be a little off on each side (more spacing on one side than the other). A small issue that people probably won't notice once they see a Spartan in Hayabusa armor walk in. :p

Oh, and a question for ya, is it a smart idea not to use a respirator when working in the great outdoors? That's one of the main reasons I never finished my old set of armor, I couldn't find a respirator for resining and I had no way of ordering anything off the internet. So I was wondering if I would be safe doing that, because it would save me about fifty bucks and I can just go ahead and get started with the resining once I get my helmet printed and all put together.

I always recommend safety first. I should have used my respirator even if I weas outside. I should have set a better example to others and I apologize.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Better safe then sorry I suppose. I'm only 16, I shouldn't even be foolin' with this stuff in the first place! :p

You may be 16 so legally you can not buy it but you do understand the importance of saftey and following guidlines. I commend you. People need to take saftey serious and you my friend have taken that to a new level. Alot of us are impatient and would have finished our armor while sacrifising saftey. Keep up the good work and showing others another factor of this hobby.

Since you wanted to know about the fibreglass i used on the chest piece it's Fibreglass tissue.

@rvb18
u gave me that advice along time ago not long after u finished the chest plate in steel so when i made the stuff for ithica i followed the sacaling advice you gave me so if he trims the shoulder bit you talked about it should work

anyway sorry if this was a hijack

nice work on the armour ithica
sorry about the dog doing that must be annoying

lol that's not my video that's moz's he posted it to show me how to fix the arm movement problem

The lights are pretty bright, lol. They look nice, too.

Question, if you don't mind, what size fan do you plan on using? I know there is a limit to what will fit, but I was just curious as to what you were using so I can start coming up with ideas of how to get some cooling and lighting in my helmet when I build it. Call me crazy, but I like to plan stuff out even before I get the first steps done. :p
