I think it looks about right. I don't know if there's a set size out there, but I think as long as it starts at the bend of the hand and goes over the knuckles it's fine. But then that begs the question, are the side points supposed to be over the index and pinky knuckles?

I thought most of the plates I've seen are kinda big, though I'm starting to believe I made mine too small.

[...]

I know its a bad pic (I took it with my webcam), but does it look right?
We were just talking about this a few days ago on another thread. The plates should be scaled with the gloves on. After all, we all wear gloves along with the armor. So they appear bigger when laid over bare hands.

As for yours, it does appear too small, even for your bare hand but I may be wrong. Try it with your gloves on.

I don't think they look too bad, but this is a great point. As I was looking at reference pics, I realized that the Chief's hands are HUGE. Not just because he's big, but they're big all on their own. This is the same reason many people have modified different guns to fit a human hand.

So I'm concluding that the plates (and probably the boots) will have to be scaled a bit differently than the rest of the suit. And I've also concluded that it won't look weird. If you look at Adam's suit in the gallery, his plates aren't monstrous, they fit his hands, and they look fine.

Also, a note to those wondering: I got to looking at the boots. Even when I reduced the scale a bit, they still seemed really big. But after laying out just the sole pieces, and putting my foot on it, I realized that a lot of that is in the toe, which won't really be touching the ground. And (I can't believe my dad had to remind me of this...) most will be worn with not only shoes, but boots underneath. So they need to be a bit big anyway.

I've started my way towards the boots as well, and they're going to be huge! My boots are size 14 and are 35 cm long, and it looks like the front end adds 5 cm ... to a scale of 79.7. These things are gonna be boats

do you have winzip or winrar? If you do, just right-click and choose extract here or an option like that.

First, you should be able to just double click the zip and go to the file and still use it. It doesn't have to be unziped. If not, then there should be an "Extract All" option when you right click on it. If there isn't, then try winzip or winrar. If non of those work, I'm not sure what the problem could be.

you have to pay for it? no fair......

You don't really have to pay for it. After so many days, when your free trial runs out, all it does is pop up a little box each time you use it, asking if you want to go ahead and buy it. at least that's the way winrar works.

So where is it?
Read the post. You'll see it.

I've decided to finally fix the boot models. They are currently flipped, so it get assembled inside out or something of that nature. I'm going to also make a 2-piece version (heel & toe), and add some supports similar to the ones that FS makes. It should only take a few days.
