The visors don't swivel, they simply become opaque with some weird top-to-bottom special effect. Sean Bradley used inside lighting to achieve the effect, you may want to look into that. Seems like the most practical option.

This is h=going to sound so nooby it hurts to say it....
I have all of my peparuka shapes for my costume cut out, but, i don't know how to assemble it. Like basically, how do I put the pieces together? What are the numbers for? LIke, do i connect (for example) 345 with 346 or in what way do i put them together?

I don't know if someone has already asked this, but what would be the best way to make EVA visor? Glue two curved visors together? Thanks!

Yes. It has been discussed before and some has tried with much success. Next time, use the search bar to look for these. The best way to make EVA is vacu-form.

thorssoli made the EVA last year.

Here is another thread but we are waiting for StiilusOtaku's tutorial.

I used buckles to hold my thigh parts up. They were slightly too big and they fell down my leg when i took a step.
I put a strap around my abs, and then clipped on the buckles which i attached to both pieces. Works perfectly, doesn't fall at all.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Im currently on the forearm/gauntlet part on my armor and its the perfect size if i could fit my hand through the opening to wear it....if that makes sense. how do you Pros put on your forearms? like do you have them open on a hinge then latch or cut the opening bigger? but that raises me the question on how would/do you stop it from spinning freely on your arm? and also how can i stop my shoulder pieces from sliding down?

You kind of answered your own question there. If you can't fit your hand through the forearm opening, simple enlarge it enough after you've hardened it.

As for having the forearm stay on you, there are probably several ways of doing this. Since the forearms are the most notoriously difficult piece to fit (i.e. the Master Chief's forearms are not anatomically correct for most people), you will have to add in some foam padding to get them to fit snug and centered around your arm. To keep them from spinning + staying up, I used 2 buckles on top and bottom that attach to my shoulder pieces. The shoulders are then buckled/clipped to the chest piece. Others have used Velcro. It's up to you what to do really. Good luck.

ok, so I'm building a custom Reach suit, and I have the Hazop helm pepped out and resined on the outside, glassing this weekend. I plan on finishing the helmet completely first, to give me a push to get the rest done, ASAP. My WIP thread will be found here. the discussion is, I am searching for a cost effective visor tinting spray I can use, to give my clear motorcycle visor a bluish/silver mirrored look. can anyone help me with this?

The buckles are just used to keep pieces from falling off and spinning around on you. They're just plastic side-release buckles that you can find in hobby/craft stores, or from the internet (much cheaper if bought online in bulk). You use some kind of strapping, such as nylon webbing, to attach them to the armor pieces.

There's this thread which might help get you started:
http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/12551-Armor-Strapping-101

Of, if you'd like check out my build thread, specifically around pages 20-24. I don't explicitly show how I strapped everything (I was getting excited to finish the build), but if you look carefully in the photos, you can see the buckles in between armor pieces.

There's no right or wrong way to do it, just have to find what works for you.

oh hey I see what you did there! when you said buckles i was thinking like a belt buckle but these are like what you find on backpack/bookbags...looks like you just screwed the buckles in place?

EDIT: New question...how would i attach shoulder armor to the shoulder? like the CQC shoulder plate to the shoulder piece? if that makes sense...

I had the same problem with mine, i cut a slit from the opening where your hang goes through an inch down, fit my hand through and bondoes it so th ehand opening was a little larger.

You could use the xmetals (i think thats what its called) paint that hugh's referenced in his odst build or you could buy some custom window tind. Personnaly ive gotten custom mirror window tint that looks great.http://www.snaptint.com/product.php?productid=16158

Greetings!

This seemed like the best place to start, so I'm hoping some one can help me out. I'm having some trouble figuring out how to strap-up/mount my space marine armour. I think I should be using the suspenders/belt approach on the legs. How ever I can't fure a good way to "clam shell" the torso and mount the shoulder pads/arms.

I understand the idea of "clam shell-ing" an armour piece. My issue stems from the bulky collar of space marine armour and therefore can't figure out a good place to hinge it. I have seen some people just pull it over the head like a tee shirt, But I worry that with the back pack on the armour will shift.

Any help would appreciated.
