Under your arms and on the shoulders near the black buckle-like things are the usual places, that gives you two pieces plus the belly plate. You can use a Dremel or a saw.

Do have a look at how other people have done it!

I need help with my shoulders I have the recon shoulders there two piece I am currently using 3M snaps on my jacket to mount them it works but i'm worried that they are going to fall off what would be the best way to get them to be a little more secure so I don't have to be in fear about losing my shoulders. I am at the point were i'm going to go to alteration shops and see what they can do I have no clue it would be easier if they were one solid piece but there not I resined them and filled them with foam witch I know now was not a good idea should have put a piece of fiberglass to put a rivet or screw through.

so im trying to figure out how to strap all my armor together, unfortunately i dont know what will adhere to rondo. ive tried jb weld but it seems to loosen after awhile, i tried industrial strenght velcro but the sticky back just pulled off paint dust and rondo residue and would only stick for a few minutes, i tried hot glue and that worked for a bit but then seperated from the rondo.so far everything ive tried has just pulled away from the rondo with very minimal pressure. is drilling and putting bolts my only option or does some sort of epoxy do the trick.

Can anyone give me a good visor link? I am looking to buy a visor for my helmet and don't know what to buy!

How do I go about attaching my armor pieces to the base suit, and where would I get a base suit? I was thinking about buying padding or straps.. I'm just focusing on making it durable, comfortable and game accurate.

There is no such thing as an game accurate game suit. Most of the undersuit is self-made. Basically you take some black overall and tailor made soft padding over it. Unless if you plan to make a movie quality suit, I would not recommend that you go that far.

I think if you can find black overall underneath you will be fine. Some people like to get motorcycle suits underneath. They are very costly.

The most common way of putting the armor pieces together is to use straps and buckles. Search this thread and you will get some idea. For my kids' ODST, I used the torso and the belts as the anchor points. Then I start strapping the arm and leg pieces to these 2 anchor points. I am using hot glue to stick everything together. Some velcro maybe needed to prevent the peices from moving out of place.

See my latest photo for a general idea.

Thanks, man, I'd be lost without all your guys' help.

I dont know if anyone else has had this problem but the forcep armor peice is too small for my hand, any suggestions?

Hey everyone, I am making my first suit, my Halo Reach Custom Spartan. I was am thinking ahead at the moment, and I am stuck on the thought of how to make my armour attatch to my undersuit or have a harness type-deal (My undersuit isn't anything special, its just a black sweatshirt and black sweatpants that I had lying around). I would like it to not cost a ton of money, I do know that suits take time and money but I dont want to go overboard. Can anyone help me out?

Forgot to add this, but I am also trying to figure out how I am going to do the boot peices. I am going to be wearing black Military Boots and I dont want to apply velcro on them or anything considering I use these boots for ROTC.

this is just an idea, but for people who are really confused about armor mounting and such, why not make a video of showing step by step to include more detail instead of reading an looking at pictures to understand

I'm planning a fairly accurate undersuit. I'm using a one piece hockey undersuit as a base. I will probably post a tutorial when I make some progress on that. I just need more armour pieces to fit to it first.

I'm assuming you mean the hole to fit your hand through is too small? If this is the case, but overall the forearm piece is sized correctly, than you can widen the hole after hardening it enough to fit your hand through. If the entire thing is too small, then you just have to remake it larger.

Rather than explain everything all over again, I can suggest that you check out my Mark VI build (link in my sig) if you'd like. Towards the end, I show how I strapped a bunch of the armor pieces when I was finishing up. I also show how to have the boot armor pieces attach without damaging the real boot (like you, I use my armor boots for other uses). Basically, I padded them up, and then used Velcro to hold them down. Nothing is physically attached to the boots. Hope this helps a little, and at least gives you some guidance/starting point.

I was kind of nervous about padding/strapping, because in my eyes, it was a make-it-or-break-it scenario: if you didn't get that to work well, then all that effort of making the armor pieces was wasted since you couldn't wear them. But with some thought and planning, as well as taking my time, I came up with something that worked for me. :)
