I just created a Pilot helmet, and i am pretty sure i scaled it correctly. I put it together, and the helm looks very large. Is this just because i dont have a chest piece to compare the size to? Or is it because I measured my head wrong? Could someone link a forum for scaling. I have already read Halo Godess' forum on scaling armor, and i followed the instructions, except i didnt know where a correct measurement on my head would be. From the bottom of chin to the hair line? I measured a little higher than that to an inch from the top of my head. Please give me some feedback. Thankyou in advance for reading.-- also, when i use the polyester resin will the helmet assorb it and shrink down like a inch or more?

Foam works great for those pieces.

Hey all,

So this isn't directly Halo related, but it is costume/armor related so I suppose along some line of logic, it's relevant.

Anyhoo, I'm making a Samus Varia suit for a friend of mine, and I've run into a bit of a snag. The opening in the bottom of the helmet is far too small to just slip over her head, as well as pretty much every other hole in the suit. When I was doing a size-check before I fiberglassed and bondoed the pieces, I just used some scizzors and cut some slits around the opening that made it a little more flexible. Obviously once fiberglass and bondo are put on, this won't be an option. There are some obvious solutions, but those obvious solutions are also very visible, and I'm hoping to make something that she can put on, and have it look real.

So does anyone have any solutions to this? I tried searching the site but couldn't find anything. D:

I'll hopefully have some pictures of what I'm talking about up soon. The props are at a friends as well as my camera. >>

I was curious about an easy way for getting a visor for an ODST helemt? I tried looking around on the net but didnt really find anything that looked right. I was wanting something that was a clear black simular to sunglasses.

At what point is is appropriate to start a work in progress thread? I haven't started my first pep piece because I'm still futzing with the scale and my first attempts had to be discarded (yes, I've read all the tutorials, but I'm short and have tree stump calves that are as tall as they are wide, and so getting the proportions right is proving to be a bear). It could be helpful to have a place to ask questions but I don't have much progress to show at the moment.

Greetings! I am looking for printable weapons templates; more of outlines than pep files. I like to work with wood and sculpt as I go... I am hoping someone out there has an assult rifle outline specifically, but would totally love any other weapon templates!!

Thanks!

Thank you for asking this question in a "Help!" thread instead of posting a new topic like most new members do. :)

I think this is what you're looking for?

Hi I am making a StarCraft II Jim Raynor Marine suit and I can't seem to find a visor similar to the one in image provided specifically it should be gold and cover the entire face from the neck to a little bit past the middle of the top of the head similar to an astronaut visor. Any help locating something to use would be much appreciated.

Most likely not going to find such a big visor.

Though, I have heard of people that vacuum-form their visors, you could try that.

I don't know him on this site, but here's the link he has on his site if you would like to contact him: http://www.bioweapons.com/email.htm and here's his deviant art: http://evil-fx.deviantart.com/
Good luck getting a hold of him. He does some pretty amazing work.

Maybe they or the threads they were in were deleted. Deleted posts don't count.

does anyone know where to find some cheap foam boards or mats in Sweden?
i've only found something like this:
http://www.wanlunds.se/liggunderlag...unner&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=pricerunner
and i don't know if it's good enought or if it would be cheaper to find some foam mats that's made cheap.
the one i found costs 50 Swedish kronor = 7.3199 U.S. dollars so i don't know if it's better to buy this.
there's also this one:
http://www.pinal.se/sv/campa/sovsac...unner&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=pricerunner
it's cheaper if you also include the transport price.
