Can someone please point me to a good pepakura ma5c step by step build? I've searched for a while but haven't found anything useful I've searched for an hour. I'm sure y'all would probably find one in seconds

Also if I use the rondo method how good is the sturdiness going to be? If I squeeze the grip will it snap?

Any help would be appreciated

There aren't too many builds for weapons really, and even fewer finished Pepakura ones. The reason for this is because weapons tend to have very tiny details that don't work in pep, and if you reduce the geometry too much they become too bloated and ugly to be useful! Because of the limited use of pepakura for weapons, and the high level of difficulty, there aren't really any tutorials for it.

I tried and failed with the Needler. I can say if you are willing to put up with a lower def, you can probably pull it off, build the piece but choose a spot that you will leave unpepped as a hole (so you can reach inside to hold flaps together, and also to pour rondo into)

For rondo, it will not be very sturdy. Another reason why the method is not popular. Rondo is brittle and will crack if you drop it or something. And it's hard to get fiberglass inside. You could try doing hairy rondo, but it will never be as strong as straight fiberglass.

I'm happy to offer insight, but I don't think you will find any tutorials.

I'd go with an epoxy to glue two fiberglassed pieces together. Something like this would do the trick for smallish projects:

I agree with Jester-19, 2 part epoxy is the way to go. Without knowing the size/shape/condition of the two items you want to join, it is hard to give you advice that may be specific to your project. I will add that if the two items are painted or have some other coating on them, be sure to sand that off where the two parts will join, and the courser the grit, the better the bond.

You could just skip the pepakura and get one of the sliced files for use with cardboard. Resin it over and inside and it should be hard as a rock. Then, you can shape, detail, and such to make it perfect.

So some of you might have seen me asking a few questions about Scout armor around the forum, at this point I have finalized everything except for the torso. There are no Scout torso pep files that I can find so I have to use something else. I am torn between the Recruit and the Recon torso. Any thoughts?

I would poke at Crimmson's thread. They were working on the H4 Scout (assuming you mean that one, it's rare to see H3 builds these days) and you may be able to get the files from them for the chest. If you do, it isn't hard to unfold.

For a style alternative, I wouldn't be able to help with that!

Could you give me tips on making a neat helmet. I have tried making a helmet 3 times now and I need help.

Tips depends a lot on process. Without any background it's hard to say! Let us know what went wrong with your builds, what methods you want to use, and maybe some pictures.

The biggest tip I can give is dilligence though (insert bone wah). Keep at it, seek out our help but you really need to specify it, as tips on the entire thing is a tall order to ask!

So i have a resin/foam question. I peped up the Gunginr file by JTM and there are a few floating faces in the model. I want to do these faces out of craft foam but Iknow that if I put resin on the foam it will eat away at it. I havent messed with foam so I diont know anything about plastidip. What I can guess I should do is harden my helmet, smooth it out with bondo, and then add the foam, with a final spray paint. Is there a better way to do it or am I correct in my process?

Does anyone know how many posts are needed in order to receive infantry status.?

Think it's around 100 "quality" posts, but have heard of some people getting it sooner, and some having to wait a little longer. So, basically it's just a matter of being patient and being a part of the community.

Save it as png or a jpeg then try to upload it. Sometimes you can just change name from .png to .jpeg and site will accept the file extension.

Would strongly advise against using live (unfired) shells, for a number of reasons. If they've already been fired and you just have the empty shells you might get away with cutting the "flare" off (or trying to tuck it back in) and maybe filling it with a shot of spray foam so it's not just a hollow shell. Even then, there's a chance a public venue might have rules against them. Another method would be to cut lengths of PVC pipe or wooden dowels and dressing that up to look like shells.
