Is it possible to pep on cardboard? Its nothing major scale. Its just a sphere that is going to be used in an egg drop for physics and we are only allowed to use cardboard and tape (spray on plasti-dip is my friend for this one ;) ) so I want to make the sphere out of cardboard (printing the pep onto paper and then tracing it onto the cardboard). would cardboard be to hard ot workwith since I cant use glue, or should I use manila folder instead?

Hey all.

Ive not made anything with pep before; the nearest I got was a fallout 3 pack of radioactive gumdrops!

I've read the stickies for advice on the actual building, but can anyone recommend a good starter project?

Cheers!

Hi Everyone,
I was wondering how I could measure my chest plate using pepakura designer cause I have finished my helmet and now am moving on to the chest piece but I dont know what measurements to use so please answer this. It would be really helpful.
Thanks,

Hmm... it seems that none of the experienced members are here to help. Well, I'll try to answers these.

I am at work and I don't have Pepakura Designer in front of me so I can't tell you the exact menu to change the settings. If my memory serves me right, it is under File. You need to adjust the line transparency.

I"m assuming you are referring to Hayabusa. We do not sell or offer services to make any armor for anyone. This is a community where we share and discuss ideas on how to make armor. It is against the rules to solicit members to sell/buy in the regular forum and the MOD strictly enforces this. Even if someone is willing to make an armor for you, be prepared to shell out $2,000.

There is none. Everyone of them can be complex. It all depends on your skills and what you want to make. I believe regular marines from H2 are easy, but the question is if that is what you want to be? Search around and you need to decide what you want to make.

If you read the stickies hard enough, you should be able to answer this question yourself. In the forum, there were countless of post referring to HaloGoddess excellent tutorial.

I had this problem also lol. So in Designer goto Print and page setting and make sure transparency is at 0%

Dear Alliance585,

ok i think that i can answer this question just so long as you are asking about scaling. all of the numbers for scaling a piece of armor are in millimeters so to convert your inch measurements multiply your inch measurement by 25.4 and that should convert your inch measurements into millimeters. and another thing make sure that you are measuring correctly and adding at least one inch to all of your measurements so that there is still room for fiberglass and padding. i made that mistake several times in my first few builds ending in me restarting completely having to do every last step over so i can get it right. i hope that the info i gave you helps and good luck on your current and future builds. if your have any more question feel free to drop a question on my profile page or send me a message or e-mail i would be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.

hello everyone, I'm in need of a little help. i was on here a few weeks ago and i came across a thread with a full page of pepakura files. not sure of where to find it. if anyone could help, it would be very much appreciated. thanks.

i downloaded pepakura viewer 3.0.4 (the latest version apparently) but it wont run on my computer anymore. its just crashing on start up and i've uninstalled and reinstalled it several times with no success at fixing the problem. anyone have any ideas on how to fix it or know of another program that reads .pdo files? ive got a project i need done in 2 days and im out of options at this point...

well the only other option i can think of is to use another computer because its not the opener that is crashing your computer it is something else most likely a virus so if i was you i would do a virus scan on you computer because they love crashing computers

Just have a look at the Pepakura and Cardboard Armor Forum. Maybe it jumps at you! :)

You need the Designer to begin with, so try that, maybe it miraculously works. PDO is a proprietary file format, so you won't find any other programs that can open it. If all else fails, you can contact Tamasoft's customer support, they're pretty helpful.

I am really stressing about sizing the chest piece. It is a huge piece and if it doesn't fit I might hurt someone. In Pepekura, the dimensions for the chest are all very close. I measured across my chest which would normally be the width, but the pep file for the chest is oriented in such a way that the width could go in either the width or depth field. The chest is oriented with its side closest to the viewer which would make the actual "width" that I measured the depth on the program. The only comfort I have is that the two fields are never off by more than 10mm, but I still don't want this to screw me up.
Am I making sense or is this just a bunch of babbling. This is my last pep to do btw, everything else looks good.

sometime you have to accept that the measurements will be off so what i would do is measure the largest dimension on your body and add one or two inches to the measurement when you plug it in that helped me on several of my previous builds and it tends to work every time the reason as to why i say that is because as you might already know the dimensions adjust relative to the measurement you just plugged in this helps it all be symmetrical and be proportional to the specific piece
