he guys ! I just have some Questions...

- is it right that every armor file is for 190 cm/ 75inch poeple ? when yes... im just to fat.. lol
- how do i scale my armor or my file for my arms/legs/body (guide would be nice)
- i read a paper with 3mm would be the best... is that true ?
- sometimes i read resin and glas fibre mat outside.. sometimes inside ... sometimes with putty to make it look nicer... sometimes NEVER... sometimes with papier mâché sometimes without... just please help me a little bit ):...

thanks alot <3

(i just want to build some armor for my postapocalypse larp outfit and already builded some halo armorstuf what looks good but dont has fit... (THATS THE MAINREASON FOR THIS POST)

ps and sorry for my bad english skills :) greetings from germany !

pps is the pepakura index down ?

ok all of the measurements need to be in millimeters so multiply all of the inch measurements by 25.4 to get the exact numbers needed and the measurements need to me in a height/width/depth format that n itself is pretty self explanatory put the fiberglass in the inside and resin the outside and after a layer of fiberglass has dried on the inside put on another layer just to be safe no paper mache with all truth it looks kinda unrealistic use fiberglass, resin, bondo, rondo (a mix of resin and bondo) and anything else you may want like if you want to have your armor strong enough to be used in paintball use bed liner that stuff kicks some major ass and can really take a beating i hope that i helped you out a little if you have any more questions feel free to send me a private message i would be more than happy to help

ok just for example i take MK VI HD Forearm left file

height 330mm (this should be the lendge edge to edge ... right?)
width 177mm (is this the measurement of the thickest area of my forearm ?)
depth 149mm (for what is this ? i think the thinnest measurement ?)

thanks alot for your help... the last armorpiece i tried i just resin and fiberglassing the outside bc the resin doesnt came trough the paper.....

It has nothing to do with thickest and thinnest parts, it's about dimensions. Depth is front to back, width is left to right and height is top to bottom. Where the front side of an object is, is a matter of definition in many cases.

height from elbow to wrist
width thickest
width thinest
it is easer to explain using a head on a head the hight is from top of head to bottom of the jaw line
width is from back of the head to the tip of the nose
depth is from ear to ear

so its like the half width ?

mine half arm is ~15-20 cm width ... would fit...

thanks again for all ur help !

(its not easy to explain my problems in english ): hope u understand my "longline")

(Hopefully) quick Pep question.

I just made one of the Reach forearms and though it fits length wise it's a bit snug at the end -- which I didn't expect since I have skinny forearms. Have other people run into such a problem? Was the solution to sand those bits down after resining and fiberglassing or is there another solution?

Thanks.

Hey all loving 405th my first day been reading up a lot.

If I'm 6ft2 and have 32inch waist would I have to scale the Armour much from the standard scale provided?

Building Noble Six suit at the moment.

This is a relatively common issue. Trimming down one or both openings of the assembled and hardened forearm model is how I would (and have) approached it. Depending on the model used you could potentially omit parts of the paper altogether (but it's typically a good idea to leave all paper parts in to help to maintain structure).

Welcome to the 405th. There is no such thing as a standard scale. Each model that you consider will have a different scale as determined by the individual that has unfolded it. You will have to review and/or revise the scale for each model individually.

A good sticky (help) thread to review at the beginning of a noob's tenure is Roadkiller's reading list (http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/30542-NOOB-reading-list). Keep reading and researching so you may ask informed questions if you should have any. Good luck with your Noble Six build!

Is the "standard scale" you're referring to the 86 inch "Master Chief" size? I'd say you'll definitely want to scale it down some. You and I may want to keep in touch. I'm about 6 ft with a 34-36 inch waist. I pepped a left shoulder piece and it was too big in diamter. I'm either going to scale down more or just cut out part of it to shrink the diameter...

umm if I mistakenly make a few 1-3cm to little on the fore arms better I redo it or just later I just cut little part of it so it fit

Hi,i have a question right now.
I am currently doing up the helmet and i don't know whether to glue the part where the visor is and the part where the lights of the helmet goes(at the sides, the two holes)?

It's a good idea to Pep in the paper visor, and it's strongly suggested that you do. It will help support the helmet and maintain the proper shape through the hardening process.

You can Pep in the paper lights if you're not planning on adding real, working lights. Most people install LED's there, so there's no point in Pepping the minute detail of paper "lights". So it really depends on what you're going to do.

Hey all, new member here. I gotta say I love the way you all reach out to help each other.
I have been combing the forum for this question/answer and either have missed it or it has not yet come up.

I have this great pep file set from robo3687 for the Iron Man suit, however there are files for LEFT and RIGHT peices like the shoulder pauldrons and palm guards... well they appear to be EXACTLY the same, in this case they are both LEFT side peices.

Is there a way in PEP VIEWER or PEP DESIGNER to "flip" or mirror the item so it is identical but reversed for L/R matching? I must be missing something...

Thanks all !

Welcome to the forums.

You can invert the pattern in Pepakura Designer by selecting 'Invert Pattern' from the '2D Menu' drop-down on the menu bar. You will then need to reposition the pieces within the 2D window.

Invert?
Aha! gotcha!
THANKS!

Then I gott a move 'em around cause it scattered them all over the 2D pattern... ok.

Now, I can't save the change nor reverse the 3D model - is that correct?
