Im making 3D printable Halo 2 BR files!

Hey all, I am starting work on a 3D printable Halo 2 BR that's as accurate to the game as possible (with room for interpretation). Some goals for this project are as follows:

- Make the model as accurate to H2 as possible. With proportions, details, and engravings as accurate as possible. The only exception to this goal is "interpreting" the model in ways that I feel are more accurate to Halo cannon. (An example of this is the lack of a trigger guard on Halo 2's model. In my opinion, its more reasonable to assume that the lack of a trigger guard on the H2 model is more due to the limitations of models back in 2005 since literally every other iteration of the BR has a trigger guard.)

- Add as many functionalities as possible. I love my props to feel real, and not like a static brick object. As such, I want features like a moving trigger, a spring loaded action, removable magazines that can be removed with the use of a mag release. I also want a non-permanent way for the parts that move to be "locked" in a way that can give people the option to have a static prop in order to get into conventions easier.

- Make the prop easy to print/assemble. In direct contrast to my previous point, I want to make the prop as easy to print and assemble as possible. This means that I have to get clever with how the inner mechanics and also how the pieces are actually separated. I believe I have some good ideas, and have attached a dissection breakdown of my process below. Another part to this is that I want to be able to disassemble the prop if I need to access inner workings, this means bolt together where possible, but not all over the model so that it can be broken down into say, 3 large parts.

I will continue to add on to this thread with updates as they happen. For now: here is the progress I have made so far.
