Okay, while I wait for the arrival of my MA5 (oh yeah baby) I need a weapon.

I don't really have time to build something from scratch so I quickly modified the Nerf Recon (I will later be making this into a Dredd Lawgiver and making it a lot cleaner)

Yeah, I contemplated doing a custom paint job on my Rapidstrike (although to be honest, every time I look at the Johnson Arms paint jobs I want to custom paint it...)

A couple of minor fixes but I can now say that the armour is finished!

That's a quality job there, JME. I'm just a little green with envy.... Some day I hope to build a classic "Master Chief" suit, as my first Halo experience was with the first Halo: Combat Evolved on PC. Until then, I'm working on building experience with a couple ODST suits.

About hand soldering your LED strings; it looks like you've done a great job with yours. I've found strings of battery powered LED lights in both clear and blue LEDs at the Dollarama, so only a $1.25 for 12 LEDs and a battery pack, that's tough to beat! The circuit is a simple parallel string, so you can cut it and extend it if you want. Too late to save you some trouble, I know, but hope it's helpful for someone else!

Thanks Kirk. I am watching your ODST build.

Those LEDs look pretty good and the price is certainly right! I have to say that I really enjoyed learning how to make the LED strings but next time will definitely go with pre-wired LEDs.

Btw, I not only know where Castlegar is, I spent a lot of time there in the mid-90s. Love Red Mountain! And spaghetti at The Collander!

Thanks Jme,

I ski Red a couple times a year, and once spent a week in Toronto in 2001 for a seminar. Its a nice city from what I saw of it!

Well, just after lunch on Halloween and already having a great time.

I won a free day off in our office costume contest.

I have to remember that I don't have to slouch to look tactical.

I got a selfie with Carter (full size replica in Best Buy)

And this may have shown up in the Instagram feed for a comic book store near my office.

YES! This is so awesome! Just casually walking the streets of Toronto as the chief? So happy with this, so happy. :D

(Also why is master chief posing in a picture with PS4's in the background? Something just seems...wrong here... :p)

FANTASTIC!!!! Find out if the Carter statue is for sale.........

There is just something creepy about a giant size Pikachu. And the fact that it looks like you enjoyed snuggling up to it........:confused. I'd say fight it....but you'd probably loose.

We were in an elevator and I did t want to get that much yellow on the armour

After Action Report

Well a great time was had on Halloween.

I wound up wearing the armour in two three hour stints, one at work and one trick-or-treating with the kids.

The suit held up pretty well. I blew the snap closure on the top of my chest piece and the Velcro holding the shoulder onto the undersuit. I will fix these with Gorilla Glue and re-glue all of the Velcro parts.

In the cold night air the one fan just was not enough to keep the visor from fogging. It worked brilliantly inside but it was pretty chilly outside. Even taking off my neck seal to allow more air flow didn't help. I may need to add another fan. As I don't have room in the helmet for another battery box I may have to redo the fan wiring and add the second in series.

Everything was comfortable except some rubbing in the shoes. Not sure how to fix that. I may have to just use some moleskin.

Reaction to the armour was awesome.

Photo with my daughter and neighbour's son (we made the trooper armour for him out of craft foam in about a week). For some reason my chest light was off in this photo- will have to check it.

It looks damn impressive, Spartan.
GREAT JOB!

He looks a little small for a Stormtrooper...........As for the fogging,.......they do make anti fogging spray......Amazon.........Walmart.......Target..........Not sure what stores you have up in the Great White, but you might find something similar.
