Very impressive so far. It will be interesting to see if you can overcome many of the obstacles that I see other armours failing to beat.
If only they made armour for us ladies.

Do you have any other works? I'm looking to commission someone in about a year for some simple pieces, but I am looking for perfection (thus making it difficult).
LOL, welcome to the forums alice.
I like the avatar BTW, it has some what of an artistic feel.
Yeah i will agree finding armor for you gals is hard. there are a few around here who have done it, such as Vexona.
There are also Spartan Pep files but they need some detail work and such, just like any new models just a little tweaking.
anyhow, welcome

LOL. Nah...you're fine. In all truths, this file is ours to use but not ours to share. I'm not very sensitive...in fact some some that I'm insensitive.
hahaha, for some reason i read that as 'the file is sensitive, in fact, somethime im that sensitive'
aaaaannnyyyhu, its lookin great. i realy like the defining of the lines. very much NOT like the blasted normal maps. :D the magnets idea sounds about the handiest, youd be able to change batteries easier (if you were guna be putting fans, lights etc. in there), you might even be able to keep some of the foam padding around the kneck.

WETA (Wellington, New Zealand) aren't working on it at the moment, the film is on hold. MS's licensing fee and Jacksons producers fee were to high for the studio to bother. If it gets produced by Jackson, then weta workshop will do the props, weta digital will do the effects, and wing nut interactive (jacksons game development house) will probably do the film based game. Man, Jackson is going to die a billionaire (they just announced THe Hobbit is getting done by the LOTR team too..)

John, Lewis, as always guys, I'm blown away by your work. I can't wait to see what the whole armour looks like when its done. Especially what I'm sure will be a perfect super light rubber bouncy Assault Rifle. lol. Will the whole suit of armour be done in fiberglass, or ABS/Rubber?

The one thing that does make me cringe though, is how much you guys are spending on this project! I know perfection is worth its weight in gold, and obviously you guys are factoring in just how much "enjoyment" you'll get out of it, which I think is totally cool. Anyway the cost of your masters leads one to the inevitable question about the finished cast armour, which one doesn't ask in polite (or public) company.

Lewis, could you send me a PM either here or over on TDH with some numbers? I'm really excited about this now.

Keep up the good work, guys!

Adam

So the nose is in place....I just have to fill the visor back in and do some clean up. The rotocaster is up and working too.

The neck plate has been polyester primered to fill some of the pores. We'll begin the sanding tomorrow.

Yeah....the rotocaster is going to ease our pain when it comes time to make our helmets. Although, I'd personally like a fiberglass helmet.
