...LoL...totally...its ok Bishop and I had to finish 12x EE-3s (Boba Fett guns), 3x E-11 (stormtrooper guns), and 1x MG34 (Sandtrooper Rifle)...I would say it was a productive day

Thanks very much for the compliment. It's been tough getting to this point. We are super busy at work and time is short.

We'll hopefully be done with the MC helmet mold this weekend. We took a couple weeks off because of work, sickness and Star Wars projects. We're back on it now.

Just wanted to post some of the first pull pics..... Woohoo....getting close....

mine!

oh.... what happened to the detail on the visor? Did you guys take that out to vacform it seperately? Are you still planning to vacform then vac-metalize that visor?

sensory overload!

PS, Lewis, you look much better with that on :p

Yeah....that's not Lewis. That's actually one of our friends. His shoulder width isn't quite as wide as mine or Lewis. That's Mardon's armor...

The helmet is based on Master Chief's proportions at 6' tall and then we added 7.5% of reality noggin to it.

We were never putting the details of the visor in the helmet mold. That part is to be vacuum formed. That's a completely different mold. We will make that vac buck from this casting though.

Here's the Legendary Armor Helmet on MLC armor. I obviously photoshopped the high res MC arms on for comparison sake. Left is the untainted high res MC. We didn't quite get the same helmet angle but it gives you the basic idea. We also have not cleaned up the seam at all in this pull. It's straight out of the mold although there was no flashing to speak of.

How very convenient - I just happen to have a finished Mardon Torso sitting in my living room right now. If you guys need another photo test subject, I would be happy to throw myself on the altar of sacrifice...

Seriously - it looks great, very nice work!

We did some pulls today to start paint samples... Lewis applied some washes to the freshly painted helmet halves to see which green would look better. We decided to go with the forrest green. There will be paint chipping and such on the finished product but this green will be fine. We will send a paint chip of this green out to be color matched in a DBU (automotive paint) so that it will be more durable. Rattle can paints are okay for certain things but for helmets, automotive DBU's are the way to go if possible.
