ok heres my problem im trying to get a perfect visor but i cant tell which is better
the window tint i got was a combination of silver and orange it looks exactly like the legendary helmet
but if you play halo 3 the chiefs visor is like a gold replacement shield

i dont know what to use? or ill just buy a Halo 3 Master Chief - Deluxe 2 piece Helmet and use a dremel to cut the visor out.

dude, to save you time, check out the stickies! they tell you the best way of doing visors
most people here using HJC motorcycles visors in gold and some dual layer them for
perfect accuarcy. Also bike visors come in all sorts of colours if gold isnt what you fancy, im using a pink irrdium one
for example.

so basic answer = motorcycle visor wins every time.

Too small. You need a 30-40 dollar HJC gold motorcycle visor.

The helmet there isnt worth it. It's a piece of junk and looks nothing like the image, what you'll actually get is a huge piece of plastic painted gold, with a thin 2 inch long gold visor area for you to see out of. You'll waste your money. For the same price, get a XL gold visor from a motorcycle store or off ebay.

Yea the visors on those Rubies helmets are terrible. The problem with motorcycle visors is that they bend in only one dimension, they dont have the "bubble look" the in game one does. im still looking for an alternative to vacu-forming visors, looking more into it tomorrow while im at work but i think it just might work.

yea ive seen that visor before and maybe ill give ita shot, but if you look at the Halo 3 Legendary helmet, youll see it looks like its actually part of a globe. the visor looks like its cut from a sphere. ill try that HJC visor probably and see if i like the curve of it.

im just a perfectionist.

Zeshan - did you read the stickies? There is one about visors. Did you use the search button? It would have found the thread for you. Did you use the Q&A Team? No. You started a thread for something that has been covered more than once. Please use the 3 resources above before starting a thread. Get an HJC gold iridium visor (2 actually) and be done with it.

Window tint has been tried time and time and time again and it just doesn't cut it. There's plenty of skilled individuals with window tint that are going to tell you the same thing. It's just not going to compare to the iridium gold. Here's why, not only do you have to be precise EVEN after you tint it, it's still going to be able to be seen clear through. Even further if you get enough to block the being able to being seen by the human eye, a quick camera flash is going to make you look like a ninja in a headlights under your mask. The iridium gold coating is going to help reflect those camera flashes, some of them are just unavoidable based on the angle and the physics of reflection but hardly ever will you ever see anyone's face using the dual visor method. The coloring is wrong on the legendary helmet's visor, don't bother.

Seal this up, we're done here.

Cheers,
Kensai

PS: Unspoken rule #1 you broke, don't bring up Rubies armor here. Also, as said before, Q&A team, stickies or the search button or a combination of all three could have answered this for you.

Well if youre making a topic about it then... No, you obviously didnt.

If you did read the stickies, or ask the Q&A Team you would not be making this topic.

Evil Taylor, that's why old topics often need to be revisited. Mod's here don't like that but I understand after spending a long time in a forum sometimes it feels like you talk about the same topic over and over again, because you do. This is why it's a noob section. It's kind of like telling your kids not to do dumb things even though you know they will, they just have to learn and that takes time. Just be paitent with us noob's, sometimes we come up with some good stuff.

Im really not a big fan of HJC's Iridium Gold color. I think its too dull, and sort of greenish at certain angles. In-game the visors are more orange/yellow.

Id be more inclined to beleive the Legendary Helmet and the Halo Edition 360 used accurate coloring, because theyre official. Personally i think its a hell of a lot closer to in-game accurate, compared to the HJC Gold.

Im buying a few visors, and playing with some transparent paint. Results will be posted.

BTW- i agree, you could have used the other resources available. However, i think this is one aspect of the helmet that really needs to be improved.

I wasn't putting down noobs. I was one as well. Sometimes there are great ideas that come from people who have just joined. Ideas are great as they get others thinking and creating. Tint has been discussed before and none (at that time) was good enough to give the desired effect. Keep the ideas coming but please search and ask the Q&A team first. It helps cut down on the clutter.

I've actually found paintball visors to work the best. Most don't have the right vertical curvature, but almost all of them are the perfect size for helmets. Even if its horizontal curve isn't in the right dimensions, they are easily heat-shaped into the correct curve. If you do use heat-shaping, just be sure to heat the entire visor so that you get a uniform thickness in order not to get any distortions when you look out.
