Your work so far is nothing short of amazing!

Are all the final pieces cast from plastic or fiberglass? (thought I saw fiberglass somewhere in the thread...)

Also, what are the visors cast from? Just clear plastic?

the armor is cast out of rotoresin but now i cast them out of fiberglass for durablity. the helmet is rotoresin. and the plastic is plexiglass.

here is the finished backplate. getting ready to mould it.

here is an update on the gaunlet. starting to come together. then i get to make the other one look like this one. LOL

and i painted up one of my chest plates for the fireteam i am part of. still got to weather the name.

Are you planning on making the back segmented for mobility?

good question. i have seen that pic before ,just not in that good of detail. i guess i am not done with the backplate. i at least need to cut in the lines like that one. i am going to mess with the stuff called foam flex it 25. pmander made his MC out of it. it looks like armor but has some flexiblity to it. thanks for posting that pic.





if the flexfoam it 25 works out. then it will be one peice, which is what i want, but if not i will cut it into 3 pieces.

im pretty sure ithica makes some armor pieces out of flexfoam it so you might want to shoot him a PM or something for some tips

Is the "Born To Kill" thing on the helmet a reference to Full Metal Jacket by any chance?

yeah, the firetem that i am with is doing a full metal jacket tribute with halo armor. i am going to put a peace sign on my shoulder straps. my buddy is making his look like animal mother with the "i am become death" on his helmet.

ok i redid the neck ring on the backplate because it was too wide for the shoulder straps to look right and to give more room for the helmet. so i made the neck ring alittle more like the game version.

here are the almost finished gaunlets. the little vents are driving me nuts. still have the bolts to add to one and some details to add to both and these bad boys will be ready to mold up!!! YAY!! they are not perfect but they are taking up alot of time.it seems i have been working on the gaunlets for months.

here is the stomach parts, i plan to vacform these. if i can get the detail i want. if not i will cast them. the center piece needs alittle more work and the detail piece that is going to be made seperate to hold the detail. i going to vacform the the three stomach parts as one piece, becuse that is what it looks like in the legacy vid. it should not hamper movement and easier to mount on a molle vest instead of 3 pieces and trying to get them to be aligned right.

the hip plate i need to add the some details and it will be finished.
