Nice work on the forearms! I seem to get in that kinda of "slump" too: work on one thing for a month to get it prefect. Even if you say they are not prefect, I think the amount of detail you have put into them is outstanding! Keep up the good work! And if you can send some warm weather up North could ya? :p

Wow! Everything is looking great! The gauntlets look outstanding; the details really add to it!

Will the stomach pieces be angled to follow the contour of the midsection (where the sides are slightly angled back from the middle piece)?

You could also try casting the midsection in flexfoam if it doesn't provide as much mobility as needed.

thanks for the comments, guys.

i am going to do some test pulls of the stomach armor to make sure they fit right. the belt buckle and cod will be made seperately from the three stomach parts. when you have the chest and backplate on and the chest palte sits on top of that. the stomach parts should fit nicely under it.

if the vacform does not look good, then i will make them out of fiberglass or the foamflex it. but foamflex it ain't cheap.

thanks, man. i am glad you like it. the helmet requires alittle clean up but nothing major. thanks for the support and get that thing painted up!!!!

I just got my helmet too. I'd post pictures but at this point you'd be looking at the same thing Kodorei posted. Just an incredible job by Mr. Bungle on this bucket, and the stickers were an awesome surprise too! Thanks again!

Whoa, you didn't waste any time Kodorei. Nice job!

Oh and I don't mean to threadjack, but since this question is specific to this helmet I thought I would ask it here...if anyone has any success/ideas for internal padding please let me know. I was thinking something snug -like the cheek pads on a motorcycle helmet.

Motorcycle padding will work great, that's what I used for my Bungle helmet.

Or you can do what Sean explained in his Tutorial:

I'm planning on using motorcycle padding for mine.

There's a whole thread on it here:

i got everything from the cod piece and up finished except the backpack (which i am in no hurry to get to right now). now i am getting ready to mold everything. i have to make molds for the guanlets, hip plates , side plates, , backplate and the buttplate. rube gave me expressed permission to make cast of his buttplate, so there is one less thing i have to do. THANK YOU ,RUBE!!! i am making vacform bucks for the stomach parts ,cod and belt buckle. they are the smallest parts and it is easier to vacform than to cast from fiberglass.

i have a test pull of the stomach parts. i want to make them one piece like in the pic. in the pic is the side plates and the hip plate.

here are the finished gauntlets. i have to add four small screwes and they will be done for real!!!! i have worke on these things so much that if i continue to work on them they will start to fall apart. so time to mold them up. they are not perfect but once they are painted black or gunmetal grey ,any minor imperfections will be hard to see. but i am happy with them.
