No, I think that looks absolutely fine as it is. I honestly don't get why people have to weather their pieces - sometimes 'factory fresh' looks fine, too.

The blue is a little dark and glossy as is, don't worry I have a plan ;-p, I won't be overdoing it but I expect it to look much better

Great work, Motion! Glad to see you keep at it through the difficulties and come out with an awesome product!

Okay so, visor gave me some issues putting it back in - need to fix a small spot. But she's pretty close!

*sigh* finished the paint, made it a little more scratched looking but then when I applied the clear coat it made it a lot more shiny...and exaggerated the details - so I might need to wet sand it with 1500 depending on how it cures x.x. There's always something! I also sanded down the indent for my second visor insert, cut out the piece I need for the insert and heat gunned it to get the shape right. Ill post pictures once I fix the paint and finish the visor !

Found a can of krylon matte finish, seemed to fix the whole - looking wet thing :D. Just need to put the lights and fans in.

That's turned out really well,
congrats on the awesome work!

Thank you sir!

This turned out great! Are you gonna make the rest of the suit now?

Thanks! I'm working on getting what I need to wire LED's and a couple fans into the helmet at the moment, then I need to put padding on the interior, and I'm going to use batteries to counter weight the helmet. After that I need to work on re strapping the storm trooper armor you see in those pictures on my mannequin - then I'll likely move on to a chest piece. Everything I have been doing on this helmet is new to me, and for the chest piece I will be attempting I will more then likely be using foam. So it should be interesting to see what happens lol.

Still waiting on parts for the lights and fans, but I couldn't help but take a random video xD (LOL just realized I'm in my boxers)

You've got a pretty epic paint job going on there. I can't wait to see it with the lights installed.

As to the reflection... HA! I suppose it could have been worse. Honestly, if you hadn't pointed that out, I wouldn't have noticed (too busy looking at the helmet).

Iam definitly not a fan of the halo wars or old halo 1 files. but this helmet looks amazing :) especially the paintjob is amazin :)

Harican, this is actually the latest Bungie version of the Mk V helmet from Reach. Which, IMO, is better looking that the Mk V from Halo 3; and much better looking than the Mk V from CE.

Thanks guys! I actually went to start a chest piece but realized when scaled a bunch of the pieces wont fit on my card stock, so I need to figure out what I'm doing with that lol. Considering doing the Halo 4 recruit chest piece, but still using the dirtbike jacket as under armor like so many ppl do with reach suits. I'm really not a big fan of the halo 4 under suit :p, I think it looks really weird having the upper torso's under armor being the same colour as the suit - to me it just looks like they were too lazy to texture it properly :p. But I love the halo 4 suits that the stony props guys have made and the recruit pepakura I've been looking at seems to be the best looking chest that really doesn't have any overly complicated pieces to worry about (would be my first scratch built piece, aside from a gauntlet :p) /endrant

There is a function when you are moving pieces around if you right click it will bring up a menu. The third option down will be to join/separate. Once you have selected that you just click on the line where you want to create the separation. I had to do this myself when I was pepping the thruster pack thingies on my Mk VII armor. Hope this helps!
