The HALO 3 version, you say? Sure thing, buddy; I'll get to work on that set of schematics as soon as I get home from work tonight. I'll be sure to break it down into the segments you described, and I'll indicate sizing for each part as well. If all goes well (as in no interruptions), I should have it all done by the end of the weekend

As for the rest of my schematics, I think what I really need to do first is edit them all a bit, scan them to my computer and then post them somewhere online. I got a good deal of interest with my schematics in the thread I linked to earlier, but that kinda fizzled out as others made similar schematics available, so the computer-drafted ones won out over my hand-drawn ones. Who knows, though... perhaps I could still get others interested in my work again :rolleyes

I appreciate you taking the time. It shows your love of drawing that you still take the effort to make your blueprints by hand, when you don't have the computer program.

You're more than welcome, buddy. Anything for a fellow SPARTAN. After all, that's part of why we're here, isn't it? To share our knowledge, experience and skill with one another? And given the regrettable postponement of my own projects (ie. Mk VI suit) for an indeterminable period of time, this allows me to help contribute to our wonderful community in other ways ;)

I,ve had a few questions on the spring loaded bolt. So I thought I would put some pics up.

This pic show the assembly. A 1/2" dowel drill through and riding on a 3/16" dowel.
The 3/16" dowel is nailed down to the spacer that acts as the stop.
The bolt arm and 1/2" dowel ride on the smaller dowel.
The spring pushes against the spacer as the dowel goes through the spacer.
The bolt arm has a hole drilled through it and is glued to the dowel.
The bolt arm acts as the holder for the spring and is what gets pushed back when the bolt is released.

In these pics you can see the channel the bolt arm rides in and the spring inside.

Hope this helps.

Damn Lee! That's beautiful. I'd love to see some working drawings/schematics of the mechanics. :D

I'll try to get some blue prints drawed up when I get a chance. Thanks for the comments.

Now that's what I call attention to detail. Truly great stuff you've got going there, Lee. Keep it comin'! (y)

Wow, first time I see all this. I'm out of words.

Please and I say please, when you mold it, mold it in parts as a kit so it can go thru Canadian customs. I will buy one :D

Good point, lol. I didn't even think of that, but I'd be in the same position as you regarding that. Same would go for his M6G, too. It would seriously suck to put out some dough on something like this, only to have it confiscated at the border

EDIT: Of course, that really only applies if he decides to mold/cast this. He may very well do that with the M6G, but this is a far larger, and therefore more costly, piece to reproduce.

Fair enough. You've got a point there, Link. Guess we kinda got a little carried away with that :p lol

We should just keep the discussion here to Lee's build progress ;)

I agree with you, I'm not the first person to use a spring in there weapon, but maybe in the way I have used the spring.
