Your work is progressing very well.

I like that your going for the "FIT" of the armor (to your body) and not trying to keep all of them proportional to John-117's proportions. I found that better "FIT" gave better freedom of mobility. ie. sitting, kneeling, crouching, etc...

Keep up the hard work, it appears to be paying off.

:)

hey thanks!
I'm definitely going for fit over proportions, (of course I still want to keep it accurate though) but I see so many costumes that look awesome but also look really hard to move around in and are uncomfortable, so yeah, im going for at least some sort of comfort!

Dang girl, this build is looking legit! get some fiberglass in them so they don't warp!

lol its super legit xD. I know, I'm pepping as fast as i can so that I can start resining and fiberglassing asap, it snowed a little today so im freaking out about it being to cold out to resin. And im really concerned about it warping because everythings been sorta banged up from being moved around my house / worn for size. But im almost done with the pepping....in fact I just finished my other boot...here are some pics!

Finished other boot: (so im done with boots now, yay.)

**I plan on filling in the hole things with something other than pep, aka why I didnt pep those pieces.**

And heres a little easy update on what I have left to pep:

Looking great so far! I'm really excited to see how it all fits when you've gotten everything pepped. what exactly are you planning on using in the holes on the boots? Perhaps I'll do that too...

thanks! Im not exactly sure what Ill be using for the holes right now. I honestly just didnt wanna cut out those little pieces out of pure laziness. Im just gonna keep my eye out for anything that might look like it will work for that and if I cant find any then ill just cut out the hole pieces xD

Ok so heres my arm piece that I pepped today. Scaled at 290 mm high. It seems a little bit big at my elbow because theres a ton of space (tried to take a pic to show it.)
Opinions though, is this scaled too large??

Definately not too large, unless your undersuit is going to have really awesome elbow regions to look at. My forearm was measured at 340, it doesn't clip too much with my shoulder when i wear them both, it has a nice range of motion.

Thats normal for a MKVI, It will make it look like you got Popeye forearms but once you add the shoulders it should blend in together, just pad it out on the wide opening and it shouldn't move all around, also not sure if thats the female forearms, if they are not, there is a pep file for female forearms that are not as wide at the opening

No they aren't female forearms annanymous is using, who would, i don't remember seeing a female masterchief and if their was, the character would just be sexualised with unpractical armor...

Im not saying there were female version forearms in the game, Someone on this site modified the original pep file to a female friendly pep version so if you have smaller arms the armor will fit you better and not look so bulky, they also did this for the shins cod piece etc, These parts look like the original files they just don't look so bulky when you wear them, some males on here use the same files if they have a thin body frame

I know, i've seen them, but this build is obviously not the F variant, all the pieces that have been pepped are all male.
I've just found the female version of the pep has been really trimmed back to expose more skin.
Additionally with all the models done in pepakura, whether it is going to fit on or not is dependant on the size of your fist, elbow, the flexibility of your ankle and the size of your knee.

Yeah I think theyre a pretty good size. My undersuit will be a motocross suit probably so that + padding should hold them in place alright.

Ill be making shoulders next, so I'll be able to fully tell how they fit when those are done. There are female forearms unfolded by Halogoddess that are thinner, however, I decided against using them because at a certain point halo costumes lose their coolness when you slim them down to much. Bulky looks cool unless it looks like it doesnt fit at all

Yeah I'm not using the female forearms. And that would be unpractical hahaha

Actually, my build is not 100% normal, male mark vi. I am using Halogoddess's unfolded female shins because the normal shins were getting to wide for the length that I needed. The rest, however, is the normal build.

a girl?, never i thinked that a girl would like this type of games, but, nice job! ;)

lolwhat. A lot of girls play halo! But thanks for the support

I would be happy with shins that fit on without being overscaled something bizarre like mine are :(.
There is a bottleneck about 3/4 of the way down on the shin and i can't bend my damn ankle enough to have it fit on with ease.
I'm hoping i won't have to make the shins again, because if i do, i will need to cut them in half or make a foam rear soo my foot can slide through...

'And also thanks to Bexi for helping me figure out the correct scale of my shins (You were right on target with your guestimates Bexi, I scaled these at 422mm high and theyre pretty perfect!)'..........

I need to ask, how tall are you? because i've scalled mine at 420 and they look too high ( no pun ).

Yeah that one area is wicked hard to get my heel through as well. A trick is to turn the shin sideways or backwards and then put them on.
I'm 5'9 but the reason why it was scaled so tall is because I guess the way that halogoddess unfolded the female shin made them much smaller or something? All I know is that my original shin that wasnt female was a LOT less than 420 mm high.

Yeah you can turn it around to get your heel through now.. .but what about when foam is added for padding???
I've thought about ingeniously placing the foam soo the motion of twisting the shin into alignment also locks it into place against my leg, guess you had the same idea....

I didnt think that padding was necessary on the shin piece. I guess we'll just see. I dont really understand how your idea for using the foam to make it easier to get your foot through, but ill just keep an eye on your thread and see what you do
