What size is your torso piece, because I tried that one (by L3X) and it came out too large. Also, looking good.

I'm 5' 9'' 170Lb med build most of the pep file fit me nice. some I need to elongate (once I fig out how) as for this chest Yes I could have cut it down by 10% but being its very hot at most con. I set it up to handle my Coolant sys that I wear under reg armor. Its an extra 8'' around my upper body so thats added into my fig. I just hope the rest of the Halo armor is in pa-portion. but if not I know I will be redoing the forearms and shines later in HD. I just need to finish what I started first.

(Edit) tried it on today had to rip it, to fit it. But yes it fits with the extra room and I can put my arms down, was worried about that when I found out it was made by a 6'6" person. all is good.

The latest up date: Tapered lower chest to fit.

Looks like I have to rescale the shoulders to fit the upper so I'll be doing that this week end.

NOTE: to all people starting off, if you've notice that I upgraded my chest and had to re-scale most of my upper body parts. I would say to you pick a build and stay with it.
I have a few months of cold so I have time, but it wasted allot of time and mat.

the new Shoulders. Added 20% to them to make them fit the scale.
Working the Biceps now to make fit scale.

That is lookin awesome, what did you have in mind for the back thingys?

Thanks Toacrabman,
If you're talking about the Venting/Louvers, I used the parts of a different HD chest as noted in the L3X thread I'll try to link them a little later.

The build looks like it is coming along well. Your pep work looks like it is very clean which is good. Just a little piece of constructive criticism, it looks like you may have to do something about the neck area once it is hardened, you don't want it to dig into your neck. You can always do want AceNat did and use the 1/2 inch foam to create the little neck area. Just a thought. Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing how this turns out!

The foam is looking really good about now. I have to wait till Feb. till I can harden it and find out tho. I'm working on the shoulders again on this 1 do to the new chest and will probably have to redo the bicep's to. But thats what I get for changing up the chest in mid build.

OK Question how do you elongate a piece? the forearm to be exact. I've been able to get away with the %10 method till now.

you cant elongate pieces, only scale them, unfortunately, though you may be able to modify it after pepping.
onto the torso, that looks really good, seems to fit you like a glove, also what are all the yellow lines on it?

Well....as to the yellow lines. I don't like wasting paper so the lines are to let me know what side and/or part to cut and keep.

Time for the weekly update. This week I received 1 Gal. of Smooth Cast 321. The Chest. Shoulders, and Biceps are coated. The Louvers were added to the back. I also removed the neck ( Yes I did do a flange insert for this but it was still way to tight......I was wrong.) I will try foam on this part later as Brandon McClain pointed out that I should try. thanks. I also started the new Forearm.

OK time for the weekly up date. Well I've hit a few problems. So I've updated a few links in my post so others can get help on these. That said I'd also like to add a thanks to both Ithica and Brandon McClain whom helped me today. Ithica, YES the GOD of the help video's for the 405 help me with a break down on the A,B mix an my Smooth cast 321. And Brandon McClain helped me with some sizing questions on some part, which in of its self was very cool of him. And if I my add he's one of the names you'll see on a better chunk of the files as a unfolder. Both of these people have restored some sanity to my week end so I had to give them some credit. As for new pic's I will be adding them about mid week as I get this scaling thing worked out. This is not due to lack of peping, for I have 5 sets of forearms (none that fit) sitting on my desk along with a right thigh the size of my whole leg. I also took the time to answer a few more Msg. on links and files. Has anyone else had a hard time with the forearms? I can get the length but then my arm wont fit in it, or I can get my arm to fit in it but then its to long. I'm thinking about just harding two of these then grinding them down to fit my arm.

P.S. Jester1014 has been also giving the 411 on sizing, I have to give it up to my mentor

Any one have a link to HD cod that looks like the reach pic been having a hard time with this 1. Thanks

Hi Thorn. While I'm still relatively new to this pepping/armor business (started about a month ago), one of the first pieces I made was a Mark VI forearm. I sized it lengthwise according to the size of my own forearm. When finished, the back part of the elbow is extremely wide (and will need a lot of padding to get it snug and centered around my arm when finished), and the other end needing trimming of the hole so my hand could fit through. At first, I thought I made it too big.

However, after looking at lots of pics of Master Chief and other people's finished armor, I think it's correct though. I would simple size the forearm pieces lengthwise and then trim them later so you can get your arm/hand to fit through.

Hope this helps, and good luck! Looking forward to more photos of your progress.

yah i have also had problems with the forearm
i have already made a forearm and it was perfect length but i wanted to make a more game accurate forearm so i put the original scaling that i had put for the first one and it came out way to big, so i have to do another one of the first forearm that i did but which sucks is that i don't remember my scaling i put :p

Yes I went over this with Brandon McClain Helped greatly on getting it to the right size in Length, but I had to redo it again because I couldn't get my hand in the next 1 I couldn't get my back part of my arm in it. So yes I now have forearms, we'll just call them try's 6 & 7 . I'll still be grinding off about 10mm witch isn't bad then I'll notch the the back so as to clear bicep smoothly. the grinding will also allow me to fit hand smoothly. In other words I went with the size that when tweaked would fit the best. I guess thats what you get when you have long med build forearms and Extra Large hands. I will post pic's on Mon. afternoon after first few coats of 321

I'm told that his method works well there. But I got lucky and it fit me really close just the way it was. Only thing that didn't work out was the collar was way to tight. I'm going to have to work a new one later.
