ODST Squad Build: 4 suits B4 the Halo 4 release!

I did a quick test fit with the pieces, and everything fits great!


Alright, this first suit is starting to near completion. stick around and watch everything come together, and don't hesitate to drop some criticism and critiques, they're always welcome. Ill have another update soon, thanks!

It looks great! Wish I'd seen this sooner! Although, I'm not trying to be a downer, but the left shoulder seems a tad short. I'm not too sure about that though... Just thought I'd let you know. If it's not, my apologies. It's all looking pretty spectacular.

well, on an ODST, the shoulder plates are two different ones, so yea, they would look different. but they look great!

Oh I know they're different, but when I was looking at screenshots, it seemed a little longer, covering the top of the shoulder, as well as down a few cm past the elbow. Again, I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, just giving some input. It looks great all the same.

Thanks again everybody! And yeah, the CQB shoulder is a tad small, but its really not noticeable.


Ok ladies and gentlemen, today i have an update for you all that can only be described as GARGANTUAN. Something like 50 or so pictures. Also with this update, the mickey suit is now officially complete! Now i reeeally dont feel like writing 50 captions for pictures here, so youre going to have to figure out what all these photos are without my help (but dont worry, theyre all pretty much self-explainable). The only things im actually going to caption are the pictures at the end with the finished suit to explain whos who and whats going on, as well as a few captions here and there.

My attempts at vac forming were an utter failure, so i salvaged what i could and moved on. All i could save were the forearms. The shin faught bravely, but sadly, he did not make it.

This is the strapping for the thighs. They have buckles that clip together and adjust to your leg legnth.

The old one perished, but two new shins rose from the ashes.

Bondod and primed forearm.

Ok, this is devin, not me. He came over yesterday to make sure everything fit for collossalcon friday, however he forgot to bring his helmet and undersuit.. at least he remembered his boots. It still looks good though!

Alrighty, now after devin left, i made a few adjustments, and added some stuff. By far the coolest of these additions was the magnetically attatching AR. It works just like how the chief stores his AR on his back. Ie, you swing the thing behind you, and it clips on! Enjoy these pics, as well as my beautiful face.

Now since we're convention-bound, i had to whip up some orange tips for the guns using paper, clear tape, and an orange sharpie.

Heres the gun on my back.

another orange tip, and the oscar for best supporting actor goes tooooo... my tortellini from last night.

added some extra strapping that runs from the chest to the shoulder paldron.

and here's all the parts together! (Sans helmet of course)

Most of the weapons we will be bringing. Ive since decided to also bring my turret/nerf vulcan.

Ok, so you remember how i said i was done after the quad post? Well i lied. (For those of you just joining us, this has been going on for about 4 posts now)


No of course i couldnt refuse the urge to to don the armor myself, except this time with an undersuit. So without further adieu, heres some blurry pictures of me as mickey.

Hey everybody, we had an amazing time at Colossalcon! It was my first ever con, and it exceeded all expectations! I never imagined it would be as truly enjoyable as it was, and the response from everybody was outstanding. I also met a few other 405th'ers there, but I didn't get any usernames, so if any of you guys read this, thanks for helping to make my first con experience so awesome!

Unfortunately, I had nowhere to carry my phone around, so I couldn't take any pictures. So I've spent just about all of today watching slideshow after slideshow of pictures from the thing on youtube trying to find the two of us. after probably ten slideshows, I'd only found about three pictures of us, so I gave up (I found this lack of pictures strange, because I swear we must've taken at least 100 on friday and saturday alone). In the future I might search a bit more and see if I can find some others, but for now here's the few my cousin took combined with the ones I found online:

I took the chief suit, and Devin was rocking the ODST.

This is my friend Matt who also went up with us, I figured I should show him here because I made the helmet for him. (One of my few successful ventures in vac-forming) That, and he did a pretty damn good job with the rest of the suit if you ask me.

Also, this was another 405th member I hung around with for a while on saturday. (Whats up Andy?)





Now as I said before, I had an absolutely amazing time. The whole experience blew me away, and I plan on attending every con I possibly can in the future (speaking of, anyone planning on going to Matsuricon in august?)
And lastly, if you've never attended a con before, I highly recommend it. It's really a life changing experience, and you will not regret it.

Anyway, the thread is far from over, I've still got several ODSTs to make, and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. I'm on vacation till like june 25th, but when I get back, updates shall begin again. As always, thanks for checking it out!

Great armors to you all. One thing that bothers me thought, and this is completely my opinion, no offense to you guys, but I just find you weathered the armor too much. I know, they're your armors and all and I have no say in it its just one thing I find bothers me a bit.
