It's called EVA foam, and you can find it at most home improvement or construction/hobby stores for about $10 a pack. Really helpful in creating lightweight and flexible armor, but you need the right tools to utilize it's potential.
Nice work there dude. For sealing gaps I tried acrylic bathroom sealer and it worked a treat. I admit I only used it for one gap as a tester as i only had one gap on my whole suit but it preformed perfect.

working on my boots now. dremel work done, so literally the most trying and difficult part of the build is done. well except for making sure the helmet doesn't come out warped LOL. STAY TUNED!!!!
here are the boots, not complete. I made them to fit snug to my feet, without shoes. gonna do something similar to sandles to strap to my feet with socks. too big of a pain to build around shoes, so I went another route, enjoy!
