I'm soooo excited to see this trailer. I wasn't sure what the images were for when I saw them until you guys mentioned a trailer was within "reach". haha. Get it? Yeah.

Thanx peoples! And I thought that the live action trailer centred around the birth of a spartan AKA: Carter. I dont remember seeing Kat in there, unless theres another live action trailer that I dont know about? =/

according to reports, the Kat armor seen at SDCC was to show off what we can expect to see in the upcoming live-action. my only question is: WHEN!? Way to create hype and torment us Bungie!

Okay, here are the best reference pictures I could get. These images show some views of the attachment on the right side of her helmet AND some shots of the pack that she wears on the side of her left thigh.

I hope that these pics will work for you. I knew she had something on her left thigh, but there were never any good shots of what it looked like, so if you can somehow model this, that would be awesome! :D I think some of the other spartans have a pack on their left thigh as well. :p

I'm guessing that you could probably model that pack off the thigh that you made so that it all lines up properly. :p

I really hope you can work with these. :)

Well I've been working hard on building my armor so far. I just finished fiberglassing the Male Shins which fit extremely well, as do the thighs. The helmet is fiberglassed and bondo-ed and I tried this new stuff called "Bondo Hair". It's a pain in the right arse to manage but extremely strong. I'd definitely recommend it for filling in holes or adding as support to certain areas before you officially fiberglass the piece.

Thanks to those who unfolded the armor pieces I've been doing. I just took pics of the gauntly since it's the closest to being done in comparison to the other parts I have right now.

I realy like your file they are very impressive but I think I have found an error on the top of the thight by the detailed indention

i have to agree, im loving your files, and thanks!

but yeah the thigh has a crazy edge going on near the front at the top :D kinda had to re pep the area for the edges to match.. but its easy to fix up with some spare card stock to fill the gap :)

Hey SJSUSPARTAN! I LOVE your reach forearm. It is a pretty smexy model. :p

But after looking at that and then comparing it to the live action Kat costume AND some more in game images of Kat, I noticed a pretty big difference between the models. I actually already edited your forearm model since there is a lowered area in the front and back of the forearm and I went through hell trying to edit that thing. After I was happy with it, I unfolded it and printed it out, ONLY to then notice that it was still wrong compared to Kat's forearm. :(

To give you a better idea as to what I am talking about, you can look at this pic:

The red lines are your forearms and the yellow lines are the ones from the live action. You will notice that there is a pretty big difference. You can't see too much from this view, but if you compare other views of your forearm and this one, you will start to see a lot of differences. And most of it is this area. I would try and edit this myself, but this is a pretty big edit and just to get those little notches were a pain for me since I hardly know what I am doing. XD

It just so happens that I edited the file last night to better suit the live action.

OMG!! You did??!!? I can haz? :D haha

I'm growing quite fond of the live action and would LOVE it if my costume could come out like that! Also, a friend of mine, TheDigitalFix had modeled the bicep piece and I scaled it, printed and started pepping and come to find out, it's TOO tight! I know that once I harden it, there will be NO WAY that I will get that thing to fit over whatever I am going to be wearing under it! D: I was going to attempt to edit that too to match the live action, but there is just too much that needs to be done and I can't edit that much. I'm still learning. XD

sure, If its ok with spartan029, I'll link it up. Now, be warned that I am in no shape or form taking credit or saying that its exact, but its close. There will be a little cleanup once its pepped just because I wanted to do the details myself. Also, have you thought about how to pull off the undersuit?

ooo im interested in seeing the edited gauntlets! i too am trying to go for the legacy fx kat suit more than the in game one. it has some awesome details :p

and SJSUSPARTAN about the open edges on the helmet.. i havnt started to pep it yet (i tend to leave the helmet to last..) but if the open edges are anything like the one thats like the thigh file it could cause problems for people who arnt very experienced with pepping... i know they can be fixed with some patches of card stock to keep the rounded shape, im sure nothing a bit of bondo couldnt fix also.. haha
:D

would you (or anyone else) be able to take a screenshot of it? that way i can focus on what might be the problem with the model. it might be an extra face or something i may have missed

sure, just give me a minute and i'll post it then edit this comment with the shot :D

edit: here you go.. it kinda looks like the part that is supposed to be en edge folds backwards into itself..

Thanks Ace. That helps a lot.

As for everything else, I'm finally feeling better about my body armor... if anyone is willing to unfold it, i would appreciate the help. I have 2 versions. One which is normal (modeled off of the pics) and another modeled to my body type which is pretty athletic. I'll post the link once i'm done, but for now here's a screenshot of it.

OOOOOoooooo I like that chest plate for the simple fact of the neck collar you added. My friend, TheDigitalFix, modeled a chestplate that I like and kind of made it for me since he modeled it off my body and I like it, but it doesn't have that collar. I told him not to put it there since I could probably just use craft foam since we thought it might not be too comfortable, but the neck area is pretty wide.

Is there any way that you could take his file and add in the neck collar? It would be good for a female chestplate. :p On his file, he also included the rib plate thing and I really like that. :p

And as far as unfolding that, I could do it for ya. :) And if you could edit my friends file, I'll unfold that too! :D

I assembled the area of the helmet in question. The fit is a little awkward but it goes together. The thing that bothers me more is that towards the back of the helmet there's these too edges are supposed to be connected but the shape doesn't match up so it kinda leads to this weird overhang.

Hey I'd love to unfold the chest piece for you. I've been working on my own chest, I'm close but yours looks awesome.
Then I can focus on the rest of my armor set. Feel free to PM me, or just post it here. Do you have any idea when it'll be done?
Keep up the great though, great stuff.
