Thats insane, so where do you get that type of foam? Do you have to download your pieces from online, or do you just do it by looking at a picture?

I have faith in you're painting skills. How may you ask? Because the amount of time that you put into the details, on the build it's self, is just so awesome that the paint can only make it better :D. So this is going to be epic:cool

You're probably right. I'm such a sucker for details. >_<;;

looks so good! I can't wait to see weathering! Also Not going to lie, I refresh this page like, every 3 hours to see if there are updates :p

Awwww!!! <3 HUG!

^^; I can see you're new, but reading the thread is a good idea before asking questions. I'll answer them anyway though. I got the thicker EVA foam from Harbor Freight and i got the thinner Craft Foam from Joann's Fabrics. Some of the pieces are based on pepakura patterns, while most others were done freehand (while looking at pictures). Yup Yup.

Did some more painting today.. as i will all this week. XD Here's my thighs. I put a stripe on my right thigh. To get the flecked paint look, I just tore the tape and put it on top. Not sure how to explain further than that. >.> I also decorated my left thigh attachment with grey and white paint. As always, I'm too lazy to flip the photos. My computer camera mirrors them for some stupid reason.

I started weathering my biceps. I followed the tutorials laid out by Adam Grumbo and also Thorn's on his Noble 6 thread. I think I went a little overboard. After looking at references again, i used the wrong silver for the highlights and scratches. *sigh* I may go back and repaint it. I dunno.. >_<;; Maybe no one will notice?

My forearms, hand plates and shoulder plate are in the works right now (for weathering). I'll post again soon, if not yet again tonight. Cuz.. i'm crazy.

The biceps look good to me! :D haha

Very nice work so far and I can't wait to see more!

I don't see whats wrong with that silver at all. i imagine a crazy alloy like the suits use would be a very bright silver in the raw. Are you guna do a black wash on the pieces too later? I think it would go well with the scrapes and scuffs.

Ack... I um.. actually did do black wash as well as brown to get the grimy/dirty look, then I added the silver, and then another layer of brown wash. But my computer camera sucks. I hate using my phone camera because it takes forever to send it to my email account, but here's a better photo. Can you see the grime now? o.o

Everything is looking great Roxy. To get more subtle scratches, after you spray the silver in your brush, brush it on a piece of cardboard to get rid of the excess. Then proceed to your armor and brush away. This will keep you from adding too much right off the bat. Keep at it girl. This is awesome!:)

Oh... Ya... now that what were talking about.:D

As for the silver the next trick is lite Black wash 40/60 mix dabbed on. this will dull the silver and make look aged. Leave some bright for newer damage.

All that said You're paint looks awesome just the way it is, but I know how you're such a sucker for details;)

that my dear is freakin awesome!! can't wait to see it all finished. I really love the damage that you've painted on simply looks amazing, you'll definitely stand out in wearing it :)

Thankyou all for the painting tips. I took them into account today when i painted yet again. The biceps were the hardest. Instead of using more spray paint, I just used some paint thinner and dabbed the silver away. I took a hammered metal and replaced the scratches. Still not satisfied, i went back to Reach and went into theatre mode to closer look at my spartan. I found that the scratches aren't supposed to be silver, but more of a faded grey/white. >.> Luckily for me, i had just that color. I went back over the edges with the grey/white and replaced most of metalic with it. Funily enough, instead of usng a brush like before, I ended up just using my (gloved) finger. Why didn't I do that in the first place?

Oh yeah, and I finally attached my shoulder to my right bicep! 8D So exciting!

Anyways. PICS!

more painting tomorrow. <3 But for now, I'm going to have a marathon of superhero movies, starting with Iron Man. Woo, Avengers!!

Looking good Roxy!
Paint is coming along great!

On another note, saw the Avengers over the weekend... It was ok... Meh..

Once again, great work!

Cereal.

I actually really like the look of the muted-grey instead of the silver spray paint! It does look more realistic- and the painting techniques look really good!

I'm loving it Roxy! The paint has improved dramatically literally over night. Great work. I'm really looking forward to seeing more.:D

DANG the paint job is beautiful Roxy if I didn't know better I'd think they where real.
