I've been hard at work putting together my costume. I bought the supreme edition Chief costume last year and was pretty happy with it. I've since made a few modifications to it. I repainted everything (almost). Still working on the under suit. I also replaced the visor on the helmet. Might do the dual layer visor, but not till later. Check it out and give me some feedback :)

What is the height maximum for the Rubies Supreme costume? I'm 6'1" and was thinking of buying it, then making permutations. If it is crafted for people about 6' then I could probably modify it to fit me.

Also, does the undersuit seem to get quite hot after being in it for extended ammounts of time?

Suit looks cool dude!!!

You should consider getting a smaller helmet. The one is the pic is HUGE!!! Not even the cheif's helmet is that big.

10/10 buddy. You made the suit look awesome!!!

you did a pretty nice job polishing up a turd... Its the best looking Rubies i have seen to date.

i agree with ACDcrockr, the helmet looks a little to big... i want to mount you on my car dash and watch your head bobble while i drive down the road???

Very impressive, i once bought the costume a few models down from this. it was really tacky but did the trick.

Seeing these images of completed armour is a incentive to get my own done.

Thanks for the creative jolt, loving the paintwork.

Looks good. You should make yourself some boots though. :p

The boots were actually on the floor next to me in one of the pics. I just forgot to put them on lol.

To Boryenko, the suit is supposed to be for people between 5'8" and 6'4", and I'm 5'6" lol. And yes, the old undersuit gets really really hot. That's why I will not be using it.

And as for the helmet, I know that it's huge haha. I'll build another one later. I'm just lazy at the moment. I'll get more pics up soon. Thanks for the comments and feedback!

Good job man I was thinking of doing the same thing now that yours came out sooooo well I might just get my BUTT In gear and start working on it!!!!

Nice job! What kind of prep work did you do before painting?

Did you seal any of the edges where the rivets are or sand/primer?

What did you use as an undersuit? That doesn't look like the extremely hot vinyl suit that comes with the costume.

All the prep work that went into the costume was primer and paint. I didn't seal any edges or anything like that. The helmet was the only thing that gave me any trouble. It just needed to be taped in certain areas. As for the undersuit, it's motorcycle armor. It is definitely more comfortable and cooler than the crap under suit that came with it lol.

Thanks for the comment guys! Here's some more pics. They are in the gallery if you want to see the rest.

ps- sorry so dark. (night time pics)

Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to spruce up the Rubies outfit? If its less than a month, I might have to start posting a link to this thread in all those "I'm going to make a full outfit in 3 weeks" posts.

The painting process was actually fairly quick. It took me about 2 weeks to complete (keeping in mind that I work full time and only have limited time to work on armor). So a few hours a night for a couple weeks isn't that bad. That includes shipping for the visor I bought on eBay, and the motorcycle armor I bought at a local motorcycle shop.

As for the thickness of the plastic, it's not very thick, but it is decently sturdy.
