Wow! That is a huge compliment coming from you Sigma! I was just staring at your Halo 3 Mark V bucket and just hoping mine will come out half as good as that. I really want to make the greatest set of Mark V armor out there, and I just really want to be Caboose and go around cons harnessing people, I've already got a speech written and everything!

lol your got 2 mark Vers to get past to make the best me and sigma! lol but back on topic nice helm i hope i can get it to look like that oh and u need to make the little O things on the cheeks

The whole thing got a base coat of silver, for weathering. Where I wanted the silver to show through, on good "wear and tear" spots like sharp angles, toothpaste was applied. This way, when I paint over it, the toothpaste can be easily rubbed off to reveal the silver layer beneath:

Here's the bucket on the mannequin, *note*, the blue is a darker blue, my flash just washed some it out.

Now that looks awesome! I'm not a fan of the Mark V but that's one very nice looking helmet. Excellent paint job.

I really hate to double post, but I just wanted to post up the progress I made before I have to go out of town or the weekend.

I kept looking at the little circles in all the reference pics I had, and I got to thinking becuase of some of the light reflections and such that maybe they are actually little domes, not just discs, so I've attached some little domes to the cheeks to see how they look.

And here are some pics with no flash to show off the flexible back that I built up for the helmet so I can take it on and off, and to show off the wheathering and true color of the helmet, both of which are often washed out by flash.

Oh, and also my helmet has gotten the official stamp of "awesome" by the voice of Caboose himself!

This kinda makes me wanna do MK V instead of MKVI, but I'd prolly use the FS MKV helmet, I wanna make it like the one on the cover of Ghosts of Onyx.

i might be doing some stuff for the mk v even though its model is such a pain (it has 2 faces for each face = open edges everywhere! so what i might do is make supports for the models
