now i decided what color to use , a dark-ish blue as main color and whithe/grey as secondary color. i'm using an oil white paint and with a black acrylic with s bit of water i give it a coat and wipe it off , then i repeat it untill i get the grey i want
and withe the blue , i first paint the area silver as a primer , then use a dark blue acrylic (thick kind of paint) then i sand it down and i sand a little extra as some scratch effect (i sand until i get to the silver)
after that i do a layer of white glue to protect the paint.
pics tomorrow !

this are all the pics i got , i'll be fixing my armor's shoulders (they both fell off) i'll secure them with chicago screws , or something like that , then i'll take pics

little update
my fried who knows a bit of woodwork , will be helping me in making a reach assault rifle , just the main body , i'll be adding some extra details and make it a beauty
in other news i'll finish my armor , i'm currently doing another codpiece and another MK VI helmet , now that i've learned from my mistakes and researched more about detailing and bondo usage ... i think it might end up well

and if you could share your opinion of what i've done so far , please do , you have no idea how much that helps me

i'll be starting to do some big work in 3 to 4 weeks since i'm on exams next week and on finals in about 3 weeks and i must focus totally on school

later

thanks man ! and thank you for the tips , loved your noble 6 build btw !
ps. does anyone know what to use to make the resin's smell go away , it's kinda making me dizzy lol

I used to use fiberglass for lots of stuff in the past. I avoid it like the plague now because I hate the stuff and am going to try out the Smooth-On 321. You can never really get rid of all the smell, but something that helps a lot. . . . . if you're going to keep using fiberglass. Before it's set and hard completely through, dust it with talcum powder or baby powder. It helps a lot, but you will still be able to smell the stuff some what. Just throw it all over the place and then shake out the excess powder. Hope this helps!

could i call this an update?

i'll be continuing on making my reach armor and an assault rifle (on a different thread ... soon)
i was planning to do a halo 4 master chief or spartan IV armor ... i did found some files , but i thought they were too dificult for me , i still need more practice ... i think i'll wait untill there are some easyer files or foam template that i can also use on cardboard

and i'm back !

i've been doing some new armor pieces
since i've learned from my mistakes from the last halo helmet , i decided to make another mk6 helmet ... but i failed miserably because i made it way too big
so i made a CQB helmet
