Good progress after all the trouble you have. I have some trouble with my build too I have to redo mine that's why I don't have any update on my build. Good job on your pep and keep going :)

Exactemondo Squish! Just chip away at it little bits at a time.

You're making way better progress than me.

Thanks mate.
Ironically, I was going to post some progress pics last night, but I couldn't get photobucket to load the upload tools or anything. I can however tell you that I have pepped a low-def gauntlet (left) and a HD hand plate (left).

I am curently working on pepping a right gauntlet before I go to work.

Thanks guys, Squish

(I'll try and get pics up later tonight)

Update time!
Double post? Yes, probably. Oh well.

The shins (you've seen the front of one, you've seen the front of all of them):

Left Handplate:

and one for size (possibly a little large, but I don't care)

Also, I got myself a box of 200 springs. Don't have a use for them currently, but I couldn't resist a box of springs. Who can?

For those that are interested, I got some low def gauntlets done over the last two days, and here they are:

Later, Squish

I'm super jelly of your pepping skills; fast and accurate!

Is the plan to add detail apres bondo?

Uhhh... no, not exactly. I'm not sure I'll have time to do all those little things like that (on this build), so I'm just going to sand things once I've got them resinned and 'glassed.

Which, by the way, I have those gauntlets resinned, that handplate resinned and the helmet almost fully fibreglassed. I was going to resin those that thigh and the shins, but got interrupted and did not get time to before the resin went hard yesterday.

Thaanks, Squish

Alright guys, here's a little update.

Got the helmet fibreglassed and sitting in primer (waiting to dry), the gauntlets resinned (as I said last time) and the chest resinned.

The handplate is just resinned, but has paint on it because I wanted to see what the colour would look like.

Alright, Squish out.

Squishy's Suit (Mk VI)

I was going to say extra stuff in that last post, but can't remember what now. Can't have been too important, right? Oh well, here's an update for you:
th_MKVI042.jpgth_MKVI043.jpg
Just need some padding and a visor, which I can hopefully get within the next week. Will probably do some pepping tonight and hopefully have everything pepped within the next few days so I can focus on resin, 'glass and paint.

Alright, Squish out.

Alright guys, here it is. The helmet is finally finished.

I forgot to take a pic of the padding, but if you've seen foam cut up into rectangles and put in a helmet, then you can guess what this looks like.

all criticism, critique and comments are welcome.

I'm sure I've forgotten what else I was going to say, so I'll leave it at that, Squish

Alright guys, I think that's it. I don't believe this will be finished. I have about a week and a half to finish it and about three or four big tests to study for. I'll still go to the thing with the helmet, and if I get time I may even get the chest, shoulder and gauntlets done. Unlikely, but them's the brakes.

Squish

Good luck with your test!

And awesome build man, I'm in the process of building my own. Iv'e done some pepakura testing and finally ready to go ahead and scale the suit!:cool

Helmet turned out pretty good. You can always go back later and add details. I wish you luck.

Hey everyone, yesterday I fibreglassed (and I use that term lightly) the Gauntlets, Left Shoulder and Chest, although the fibreglass strips in the chest piece are few and far between (but as long as I can get away with wearing it for six or seven hours of mundane school work with it holding together I don't care). Today I put said pieces in primer and am currently waiting for them to dry. Unfortunately, I ran out of primer halfway through doing the chest piece and did a bit of a dodgey and coated the rest in white paint. It's seems like it might do the job though and the stores were all closed by that time, so here goes.

Will hopefully get some pics and perhaps a coat of paint on them later tonight, Squish

Well guys, here's the result of last night's work. I've also got the chest half taped and will start painting it very soon as well as put some "scratches/battle damage" on these pieces.

Will, fingers crossed, hopefully have some more pics tonight.

Looks pretty good so far squish, I like the desk too haha, is the tape for doing secondary colors? Or is it a way to do battle damage and Or detailing?

You mean the mess, right?

Yeh, the tape's for doing secondary colours. Because I'm lazy and don't want to end up taping the whole thing, I put down a coat of the sec. colour and tape it before doing the 'base' coat/primary colour.

Alright, in this one you can notice that the ab plate was NOT given any fibreglass reinforcement or even a second coat of resin and also that it is just duct taped in.

In this pic, you can see the black areas, I painted them first, then taped them and the put the coat of green over the top.
th_MKVI060.jpgth_MKVI061.jpgth_MKVI063.jpg
Some of the "battle damage," plus my name which I plan on painting on like the other couple of bits.

Alright, later Squish
