Dude im freaking jealous of you! Your armour looks freaking amazing! i guess i now know what i have to compete with! hope to see more work from you soon!!

lol thanks guys! glad you like my first suit! Just doing some finishing touches like my helmet fan and better velcro for my padding in the helmet and its pretty much all done. EXCEPT I'm still looking for a decent voice amplifier/changer to possibly get before halloween. Any suggestions?

ALSO!! Im about to start installing my ammo counter I got from ThatDecade and I realized that I still don't have a barrel or flashlight on my rifle. I was thinking about just putting a flash hider from an airsoft M4 on the end and calling it good.

AND WHATS A GOOD WAY TO INSTALL A MINI MAG FLASHLIGHT????? Got one with a twist on/off and thought that if i just cemented it in place it's pretty much useless once the batteries die :p Whats a good way do install it and have it be removable? Thanks guys!!!

Not sure I could help with the Voice amplifier/changer. But for the Flash light, maybe you could use some tape, wrap it around the flashlight to thicken it up, that way it'll stay in pretty well, but you can take it out to change the batteries.

Matth, for the amp, check radio shack. They have a small white amp box that should work fine. If they have a larger black amp (shaped like a rounded rectangle), that one is better but it's an old model so they usually won't carry those in stores. They'll have mics as well. It's not a voice changer, but it will at least be a fairly cheap mic/amp solution. Here's a link: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062620 According to that, it's out of stock.. but sometimes local stores may still have them. It doesn't have a whole lot of power, but it's not bad for the price.

For the mag.. maybe hot glue? You can always melt it off that way. I have one of YodaJammies' AR's and he built the front to where the flash light just pops in. I think it's got a shelf built in to where it will catch the bigger part of the light from falling in. I didn't even realize it came out and came on till I was hanging out with him at D*C lol.

How about a rubber ring that has a smaller (inner) diameter than the Maglite? If it's tight enough, it will keep the light in place.

However, if you want the flashlight to become part of the rifle forever, you could also just solder a few wires into the thing and put a battery pack somewhere else in the rifle. You could also put in a real switch that way and wouldn't have to twist the light to turn it on.

Check the dollar store for small led flashlights. There are a bunch of stores that have them, and they are about 3 inches long, and about an inch in diameter. and then you could get some sort of flashlight gun mounting bracket for it.

As for the microphone/amp, go to toys r us, and look for any type of toy that has a microphone and an amp. I haven't had a chance to pick it up yet, but there is a Dora the Explorer mic/stand/amp that I was going to get. Completely take it apart, so that it is smaller, paint over the yellow and pink parts (unless you want it to have that little girl toy effect) and wire it up to the suite. I was planning on mounting the speaker on the chest, and running the wires up into the helmet for the mic. I think it was $19.99

Thanks for the tips guys!! I got 4 days off next week so I hope to get the amp and light set up as we'll as my ammo counter! I'll post pics of progress when I do it!

Soooo I never got my ammo counter installed, and on halo-ween weekend my brother dropped my assault rifle on the concrete and it was KIA >=( Well, it broke in half, so might be salvageable.... If I get around to it I'll post some updates. Theres a couple photos of halo-ween weekend in the halloween pictures thread in the noob section and in the general discussion forum :p

Nice suit. What scale was your armor because I am 5'11" 195lbs or so too? thanks in advance. But nice job and good luck on the AR

Aw man, sucks about the AR, hopefully you'll be able to salvage it!

Love the suit man, and that lighting detail... I wantz. Bad. How much did the lights cost, you got links to the what you used?

Freaking. Awesome!

Thanks guys!

@Overkill: Im not home right now but when I get there i can PM you the scale of my parts if you want.

@Swift: I cant remember how much the lighting costed me. I got all the stuff at Radioshack. Couldn't have been more than like $30. I just go the bright white LED's, some 20gauge wire, and 4 chrome led holders for the helmet. For the lighting effect on the thighs, torso, and arm pieces I bought a 12"x12" piece of plexiglass ($5) and used window frosting on it. Each of the lights is powered by a 9volt battery, and i think i used 1/8 watt 100ohm resistors. The installation on the inside of the armor looks pretty ugly but as long as it looks good on the outside its all good :D I can post some pics if you want :p
Not sure what I'm gonna do with the AR, thinking of just buying one of Yodajammies casts. Might repair it, dont know, we'll see what I feel like cause I've started an Iron Man build :D

ITS FINISHED!!!! JUST PADDED IT THIS MORNING!!! HERES THE PICS!!!! :D Im holding my next project in all photos; a MA5C cast i bought!!! (more on that later on)
