I just started watching RvB yesterday, and I love that you're making The Meta! You're build looks awesome so far, keep it up. Also one of your friends should make a Washington suit lol

Great progress on the helm man

Thanks both :) Started bondoing the remade chest tonight, may get a chance to sand it tomoz. Wish I could persuade one of the lads to do Wash but none are up for it unfortunately

I feel your pain man. I was vetoed in our group so my Agent Wash is now going to be Sarge. Oh well, that just means I'll have even more experience when I do build Wash.

Indeed! My Sarge was passable, but now I look at it and shudder at all I did wrong, the second build is always better!

Started smoothing out my chest, just did one side first to see the difference between sanded and untouched sections:

Spurred on by finishing the CQB the other day I decided I'd finalise the EOD I started an age ago. Haven't got anything to use for the visors yet, but otherwise it's ready to be my tertiary helm lol

For the EOD helm, you could try some sunglasses lenses. I saw that the other day, around here somewhere, but I don't remember who did it. It turned out perfect, and shades are pretty in-expensive and shouldn't require much modification(just take the lenses out of the frames) to make them work.

Also, the difference between smoothed and un-smoothed on your kinda surprises me, I'm new and haven't gotten to that stage yet, and not a lot of people who's threads I've seen have shown that. Its quite a difference!

Aye I'm considering that when I can be bothered to go get some lol.

Yeah the difference a bit of sanding makes is huge! Adding a layer of primer after helps even more as it evens the colour out so it looks even smoother.

Impressive as always. I'm itching to get back in and work on our project next week and your updates are just making me more motivated. Keep it up.

Thanks man! Hope this week is productive for you guys!

And here's an update, the chest smoothed, cut-apart, painted, weathered and dirtied up. Need to sort the light-up areas and get it actually stuck together.

Mine were just some safety glasses lenses. They werent even mirrored, it was just supa dark in my helmet.

I love coming back to this thread, and can't help but really like the B/W color scheme. You've done such a great job on everything so far!

You really need to post some Wips with pics, you're building everything, it'd be cool to get to see some of it ;)

That was before i became a part of 405th. I built it from pep, and then found out there was a forum about it. There is a pic of it on one of my threads but a certain moderator i dont nescessarily like closed it because some people tried to criticize my technique, and I got banned because of it. I didnt even say anything that was actually "banworthy",he just dosent like me.

That's awesome! I advise making the brute shot and find some way to put a speaker in the helmet that plays the hissing that the meta does lol.

Looks good.

Question on your paint. Are you using the "Mustard" method for the chips in the paint or applying the silver on top of the white?

Thanks very much! I was a bit nervous about the colouring at first but it's really grown on me :)

Looks great! :)

Thanks!

Yeah I saw the thread you got banned for as it happened, and I'm not going to bother arguing with you on that point aside to say from what I saw it's not that the mod dislikes you. And what I was meaning dude, every post you comment on pretty much gets "Ohh yeah I built/am building that too..." Would be nice to see all this stuff you're building 'cause you seem to be building everything and I'd be interested to see how much progress is made on all the stuff :)

Check out the bottom of page 13 ;) It's huuuuuuge lol. I'll probably do the hissing/growling manually :p

Looks good.

Nopes, a technique a friend showed me, painting the white / brown / black, then using a dark grey Tria marker drawing on wear and tear on the edges, then hand-painting the silver on top of that, leaving little bits of grey showing at the edges to give the look of a layer of undercoat.

OH YES. THE METAAAA.

-cue creepy hissing and etc.-

This is looking awesome.

:D Thanks very much!
